The Olympic Tour…On Tuesday myself and the other

sports ambassadors had the privilege and opportunity to go

and see the Olympic Site in Stratford, which is being

developed and built for our hosted Olympics Next year. This short

presentation includes some interesting facts about the

Olympics.

The previous years that London have hosted the Olympics were 1908 and 1948, stepping in for other countries that were unable to host them for various reasons.

Olympic Aquatic Centre The Stadium

The Stadium

• The Stadium is built to hold roughly 80,000 spectators. This is just slightly less than the capacity that Wembley can hold!

Aquatic Centre

• The Aquatic Centre is the section for the swimming. This is built to have 3,000 seats, which was said to be enough for the audience. However, the constructors and managers hope to see a bigger turn out for spectators and as ‘extra’ seating have built another 14,000 seats, just in case there more that turn up!

It was said that the Olympic Site in Stratford will continue to be made and shaped into almost a ‘futuristic city’ and will be finished building in 2035, which will make most of us here 38 years old!

Finish in the Future…

• The Olympic site in the future will have a park and a School, providing those that live in nearby flats with access for children’s education. There is a John Lewis and Marks and Spencer's around the back of the site presently, so this also makes the people that go shopping there can’t resist the allure of the future fantasy!

The Orbit- SO COOL!!!

• In the middle of the Olympic site there is going to be a tall building that is called The Orbit. It is going to be just slightly smaller than the London Eye, which is quite high up. But wait for it…

At the top of The Orbit there is going to be a Restaurant! What an amazing view you’ll have whilst having dinner!
