wellness of the members of Team Navy has a direct im-pact on our vision of becom-ing strong and credible. Ms. Rivera emphasized that

wellness should be ap-proached in a holistic manner. “People who are wholly well – in mind, body, spirit – are the key to every organization’s sustainable success.” Thus, for every organization, “proactive education, disease prevention and chronic case manage-ment” ought to be central. After stressing these points,

Ms. Rivera engaged the par-ticipants into a quick assess-ment of their individual well-ness. She then went on to discuss different proactive and preventive measures on well-ness, which include “crafting a health and wellness strategy,

tracking and managing health and wellness data and their impact methodically, crafting guided nutrition programs and conducting seminars on spe-cific illnesses based on their trends.” The Forum underlined our

responsibility to keep ourselves well for our families and for the people we have vowed to serve and protect. The PN also has a responsibility to create an environment that promotes wellness for every sailor, ma-rine and civilian employee. Most importantly, it underlined the fact that wellness is a cru-cial component of “Highly competent and motivated professionals,” the foundation of a strong and credible Navy that our maritime nation can be proud of.
