THECAMERAPhotography is the art, science, and practice of creating dura-ble images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film, or electroni-cally by means of an image sen-sor.[1] Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emit-ted from objects into a real image
on the light-sensitive surface in-side a camera during a timed ex-posure. The result in an electron-ic image sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel, which is elec-tronically processed and stored in a digital image file for sub-sequent display or processing.

HASSELBLADOver a century and a half ago, in 1841, in the port city of Go-thenburg in western Sweden, the Hasselblad family estab-lished its first trading compa-ny, F.W. Hasselblad & Co. The location, Gothenburg, with its proximity to the European con-tinent and its historic trade con-nections with Britain, Holland,
Denmark, Germany, and a host of other countries, was ideal for an international import-export firm. F.W. Hasselblad & Co soon became one of Sweden’s most prosperous commerce houses. They also began im-porting supplies and products for the newly burgeoning field of photography. The Hassel-
blad name has been linked with cameras almost since the early days of photography it-self. First merely selling, then producing the tools through which vision is captured.
