From the Director:

“An Agile Planning Framework”

The latest blog post from Vice Provost and Director of Libraries Damon Jaggars looks at the

process of developing a strategic plan, including the confused statements about strategic intent

and implementation plans. Learn more about the process Damon envisions as we begin to

renew plans for University Libraries’ future.

“Walking Tacos” raises bucks for Campus Campaign

Tuesday’s “Walking Tacos” sale at the Thompson Library raised $236 for the Campus

Campaign. Proceeds from this event, along with last week’s cake auction, will specifically be

directed to the Library Support Fund (#303478), which supports innovation, strategic initiatives

and emerging priorities requiring immediate resources as determined by the Director of

University Libraries. It is used to help cover costs in providing the “Student Study Break Spots”

that are offered by the Libraries during finals.

Two Campus Campaign teams went up during Week 6: Shamrock is up to 55%; Max Red is up

to 62%. Total Libraries’ participation now stands at 56%.

Non-Shareable eResources Now Suppressed in the

OhioLINK Catalog

Historically, non-shareable electronic resources were visible in the OhioLINK Central Catalog.

At the December 2015 LAC meeting, the directors voted to remove non-shareable eBooks

from the Central Catalog. In the March 2016 LAC meeting, the directors voted to expand this

suppression project to include all non-shareable eResources, to reflect the need for a

consistent workflow for technical services staff. In early April, Ohio State University Libraries

worked with OhioLINK and Innovative staff to suppress all non-shareable electronic resources

from Central Catalog. Please contact Michelle Henley if you have any questions.
