What is the SC300 Safety Camera?
The SC300 is a vision technology adapted to safety requirements:
- Built in lens, light and CMOS image sensor (plus analysis of course)
- Scene is lighted by invisible (IR) light. Reflected light from reflective
tape is inspected for “interruptions”
Possible to synchronize
two SC300s to expand the opening size

• One size fits all openings from 400mm X 400mm (1.3 ft.)
up to 1500m X 1500m (4.9 ft.)
• Simple Installation and Commissioning;
1. Mount the SC300 to the frame
2. Adhere the reflective strips to the machine frame
3. Attach power cable
4. Teach the SC300 the reflective tape area
5. Confirm the sensing field boundaries by using the supplied test rod
Verify protected area using test rod
Install the SC300 at corner of opening
Attach Reflective Tape to Frame
Simple Installation And Commissioning
Press teach button Or use external key switch
Positioning of tape allows an opening in bottom corner of machine frame
Positioning of tape allows the SC300 to have a protective field that accommodates Irregular shapes of machine frame
Reflective tape can be positioned in a variety of ways to accommodate many application configurations
33
Application Description The SC300 is placed across the top of a
machine opening, making it possible
to reduce the height of the overall
guarding. This should be done in
accordance with the machine stopping
time.
For many applications the height of the
guarding can be reduced by more than
half, with the benefit of:
easier access
reduced guarding cost
easier maintenance
greater productivity
In this position the reflector is fitted to both
the fixed fencing and the gates,
opening the gate will trip the SC300
and stop the machine. Several gates
can be monitored with one SC300,
increasing the benefits of using the
device.
This SC300 application meets PLd, Sil 2
and Category 3.

Fixed Blanking Floating Blanking
Used for Applications where material will float in the field of view
Multiple Adjacent Beams can be Blanked
Minimum is one beam 30mm curtain
Maximum is two beam 14mm curtain
Typical Applications –Conveyor or Work piece Holder is fixed in Light Curtain
•The light curtain must be taught the location of the obstruction. •This means that the object must always reside in the light curtain, and always at the same location. If the object is moved or removed, the light curtain deems this action as a fault and goes into a lockout state.

LASER
• Cascading is a term that refers to the ability of safety light curtain segments to be inter-connected resulting in a single pair of OSSD’s.
• Cascaded light curtains are usually comprised of a single pair of light curtains mounted vertically at the required safety distance and a Horizontal segment pair located between the Vertical light curtain and the hazard..
• Cascaded segments can be of mixed resolutions and protective heights
