Unfortunately, there has been a delay in the engraving due to the weather. To those parishioners who have been waiting for their brick to be engraved, we thank you for your patience and understanding of this process. If you would like to purchase a brick or would like complete infor-mation, please visit our website at www.cccctucson.org/Donations & Support.

Centering Prayer Please join us on Tuesday nights at 7pm or Wednesday after-noons at 1pm. All are welcome! • Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to con-

sent to God’s presence and action within. • Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly and si-

lently introduce the sacred word. • When engaged with thoughts, return ever-so-gently to the sa-

cred word. • At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes

closed for a couple of minutes.

From the Desk of Fr. Chris

Pick your team yet? We’ll have the next week to hear all the info and hype leading up to the Super Bowl. Today we still have some football to wet our appetites - the Pro Bowl. I’m still trying to figure out how those teams are chosen! But, it strikes me that what Jesus is doing in today’s Gospel is picking HIS team. It’s like Jesus is some kind of scout. He is a keen observer of people. He can spot talent and knows who has potential. Another remarkable thing is the immediate response of the future team members. None of them says, “Talk to my agent” or “I’m waiting for a better offer from a big-ger school.” No, they drop everything and go with him. What was it about him that prompted such a whole-hearted and immediate re-sponse? At the end of the Gospel, he has four players: Simon, Andrew, James, and John. Will you be the fifth?
