And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvel-ous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for your-selves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

MEMBERSHIP CLASS TO BE HELD

For those who are interested in finding out more about First United Methodist Church and are considering church membership, there will be a new member class on Sunday, February 9th at 9:40 am in the Church Library. Participation in the class does not commit you to church member-ship, but it is an opportunity for you to find out more about the life and ministry of our church and to give prayerful consideration to whether you want to enter into membership. If you have not yet shared with the pastors your interest in attending the class or to find out more information you may contact Pastor Scott at (325)655-8981.

There will be a special ASH Wednesday service, February 26 led by our FirstChurch Confirm-ands. This service has become a tradition

held by the Confirmand Youth each year and has always been a true blessing for those who come.

Did you notice the sprucing going on? Fresh coats of paint have now been applied to the sanctuary and other parts of the building. Spring must not be far away!

Musical Happenings!

Cokesbury Choir offers so many blessings to all of us in the choir as well as to those for whom we sing. At nursing homes, we see participation of resi-dents. One nurse said her patient had not spoken a word for 3 months until the choir came. She sang along with us all! We urge anyone over 55 years to come. . . Retirees, anyone looking for a ministry that is rewarding and FUN! “Come make a joyful noise!” You don’t have to be a good singer. The Cokesbury Choir (CCS) led by Koste Belcheff rehearses on Thursday afternoons at 2:00 pm in the choir room.

Join wherever you feel you fit the best. You will be most welcomed!

JANUARY 2020

Join us every Sunday Night from 5:30-7:30 in the Youth Room for Food,

Games, Worship and More.

Pastor Bryan

Thank you so much for the great showing and sharing at worship Sunday. For those that were unable to be in worship to sing we missed you! For those that were there, I am very happy and proud of the kids!! By the time I sat down in my seat af-

ter the singing I had received some confirmed contacts in Sioux Falls and Oklahoma from folks that are willing to open their doors to allow Spirit to share our message of the Gospel thru Godspell!! Al-leluia!! Amen!! Thanks so much for making the effort on that special Sunday to share Spirit with the congregation and the Bishop. I believe all were very blessed and received multiple compliments on the kids!! Thanks to all! See you on Wednesdays! God Bless,

There is a lot going on in the lives of our students here at FirstChurch, and I am excited to see what God is going to con-tinue to do among us here. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be working in the youth room to update some of our fa-cilities. We will continue worshiping, studying, and playing, but as we move into this new season of ministry with our youth, we will be painting, cleaning, and repairing parts of the youth room. On the ministry front, we will be going to Camp February 7-9 at Camp Eagle near Rock Springs, TX. I am excited to take our kids for this,

our third year, of Winter Retreat. Be in prayer for our students that they hear from the Lord and they return on Fire for Jesus! If you are looking for ways to help our youth program, you can start by subscribing to our week-ly email blast! Just send me an email letting me know you’d like to receive our emails, or you can click on the link that comes in the Weekly Church Email! Second, you could sign up to bring a meal to our students one Sunday evening. As of right now, we’ve been planning for 30, so if your Sunday School Class would like to bring a meal, or if you’d like to bring a meal personally, we’d gladly receive it. You need to register for that, so again, just contact me or follow the links on the emails we send out. We are blessed to be a part of a church that has such an amazing group of Students who love Jesus, and who really want to be a part of the life of the church. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
