It’s a new day at First Baptist. On Sunday the church voted to call Kyle Stevens to serve as our Missionary Pastor. After almost eight years as IMB missionaries

to Serbia, Kyle will do missionary work on this side of the sea. Kyle will continue to develop and deploy our people in strategic partnerships around the world. And he will also function as a missionary to Hot Springs, developing and imple-menting a reproducing church planting strategy, helping us learn how to make disciples who make disciples. Exciting times! Thanks for the strong vote: 641-5. Kyle will begin his work with us on August 1. In the meantime pray for his fami-ly as they settle into Hot Springs and as they get their minds around this new calling. Please pray for our youth mission team as they serve in Chicago this week. This is something of a youth rite of passage in the church. Every summer numbers of our youth impact the city of Chicago through Keith Draper, our mission part-ner in the city. I’m anxious to hear God stories when they return. This time next week VBS will be in full swing. Please pray for the children and the workers. Let’s pray for children to be saved and families to be reached. This Sunday evening is the VBS kickoff rally. Let’s ask God to do great things. Our Summer Nights series continues this Sunday. We’ll be looking at that stormy night on the Sea of Galilee when the disciples were just sure their boat was going down. Jesus changed that. We’ll explore that text on Sunday. See you Sunday. Preschool Workers Needed for Fall If you have been a member for at least 6 months and are willing to have a background check, please contact Kristy Shirey to see about possibilities. If you have good protection instincts and want to serve the Lord and the church, this may be a good spot for you! We now have 7 regular Safety Team openings. And we are signing up people to help during VBS. Please let me or Brad Phillips or Bobby King know if you would be willing to serve.
