This weekend, fourteen children from First Baptist will participate in the Kentucky Baptist All-State Children’s Choir. They will spend Friday night and all day Saturday rehearsing at Cedarmore with kids from other Baptist churches all across the state and then will lead in worship on Sunday at FBC Mt. Washington and FBC Bowling Green. I honestly have never heard of a group this large from one church being selected to sing in the children’s choir and know that they will represent First Baptist well! Please thank Mark Logsdon and Jeremy Sivils for all their hard work in ministering to

our children and for helping them have such a great opportunity to learn and grow spiritually!

On a personal note: I want to thank you for the special recognition and gift this past Sunday. It truly has been an honor to serve as your pastor for these past ten years and I look forward to many more years of serving together with you! Please know how grateful I am for your faithful support and encouragement! In His Service, Bro. Bob

Kentucky Baptist Children's All-State Choir is this weekend and we have 14 lovely singing voices from our church participating. It will be a fun-filled weekend as we worship God and give Him the glory through song. There will be a VBS training on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30pm. This meeting will touch base with all of

our VBS volunteers about the theme, decorating ideas, and any new systems we are implementing this year. I'm already so excited to get VBS underway! If you have yet to commit to serving in an area for VBS let me know! Cheerfully in Christ, Jeremy

Worship Music for Sunday (April 24) This Sunday Bro. Bob will be preaching the message: “When

You Need a Close Friend,” from 1 Samuel 18:1-4, at both morning services! Our praise team will lead

the worship music for the Contemporary service at 8:30 a.m.! Amanda Ellis and Stacy Bush will

share a special duet (If We’re Honest) to open the 10:50 a.m. service! Plus, the Worship Choir will

share “Reason Enough,” from the green, “Nail It to the Cross” Book! Michael and Lance will play for the 10:50

a.m. service! Sunday evening the various D-Groups will meet in the Sanctuary at 6:00 before we begin the D-

Group sessions for week # 10!

All-State Children’s Choir Is Meeting and Traveling THIS Weekend We have 15 students and 5 chaperones

at Cedarmore, Mt. Washington, and Bowling Green this weekend! Remember them in your prayers. I am SO

PLEASED to have such a large group this year! We have these, and many more very gifted young singers that

God is blessing into our church family! Yours in Christ, Mark

We're David and Marsha Smith and are pleased to be able to work with the youth as a search committee diligently seeks the person to fill this position long term. But even during this interim, the calendar has several opportunities for youth to grow in faith and fellowship with the church. The first event is a youth evangelism conference in Louisville Friday, May 13. Buses will depart the church

parking lot at 4 p.m. to go to Freedom Hall. There is no charge for the event, but youth will need money for supper. Youth should be back at the church by or before 11 p.m. May 22 is Graduate Recognition Sunday in which our church celebrates and affirms its 2016 high school graduates. Families are requested to send in 10 pictures of their grad as well as their or the senior's favorite verse to [email protected] by Friday, May 8. Church staff will video parental blessings of youth and will display these when the congregation celebrates the seniors at the 8:30 service. (Details of the taping will be announced.) Graduates will be further recognized by the church at the beginning of the 10:45 service, then go down to the Fireside Room for a luncheon. If parents want to further affirm their graduate, opportunity will be given at the luncheon. Youth Bible School will be June 13-17 at the church from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 18 will be a celebration day and include a local trip. Details to follow next month. Jonathan Creek will host our Youth Camp July 3-8. Don't forget camp deposits are due. See Brenda MacGregor regarding the amount. Thank you for your support of the youth program. Marsha and I look forward to working with you. In Christ, David *The youth committee/workers meeting will be April 27th at 5 p.m. The meeting was moved because the youth pastor search committee will meet at 7:30 p.m.

Dear FBC, I want to thank all of the members of FBC for your continuous love, support, and prayers that have been sent my way over the course of this school year. As it comes to a close, I have begun reflecting on the blessing that this journey, though short, at UE has been so far. I know that all good things are to come in the next few years. Thank you all again for everything! Sincerely, McKenna
