Make plans to join us for our WMU Sunday on February 12. Retired missionary, Marsha Smith, will be our speaker at both morning services and various women from our church will be leading in worship. Typically on WMU Sunday, we also have a concert during the evening service. But this year instead of inviting an outside group to perform, we have
asked our praise team to lead in what we’re calling “A Night of Worship” at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Afterwards, we will have our annual men’s chili cook-off in the Christian Life Center. That very same night will also serve as the kickoff for our D-Groups or discipleship groups. Journals will be distributed that evening and persons will have the opportunity to sign up to be a part of a D-Group. This semester we will be reading through the four gospels as well as the Book of Acts. These small groups are a great way to not only learn God’s Word but also be encouraged by others! Don’t miss out on what God wants to do in you and through you by being a part of a D-Group! In His Service, Bro. Bob
Worship Music for Sunday (January 22) This Sunday morning Bro. Bob will continue
preaching through Malachi (ch.1:6-14) for BOTH a.m. services! Our praise team will lead the
music of the Contemporary service at 8:30 a.m. The Worship Choir will open the 10:50 a.m.
service with the “Jesus Is Coming Soon” Medley! Michael and Lance will play the instruments at the
Traditional service at 10:50 a.m. Bro. Bob will continue his sermon series on “overcoming fear” with
the message: “Overcoming the Fear of Death,” from John 14:1-6. Kenlee Hope Ehr and Julie
Blackburn will share a duet during that 6:00 p.m. service!
Please Remember That Handbell Choirs WILL Resume This Coming Week Youth Handbells will
start up again on Tuesday, Jan. 24, after school from 3:30 to 4:30. And Children’s Handbells will begin
again this Thursday, Jan. 26, after school from 3:30 to 4:30.
Yours in Christ, Mark
This Wednesday during Oasis, we studied Philippians 3:12-16. Our students were encouraged to live their lives running for the prize, which is Christ Jesus. We so often live in our past failures and victories, making everything about ourselves. When we do so, we forget that Christ has saved us from our selfishness and that we have been created in such a way that we are to seek Him with our whole heart.
On Sunday January 29 at 4:00pm, we will be having a parent meeting in the youth building. I will be going over some of the details about camp, and there will be an opportunity for any questions that you may have. I hope to see you all there!
In Christ, Joel
This Sunday (Jan. 22nd) at 4:00pm there will be a parent meeting in the Fireside Room for any kids interested in going to CentriKid Camp this summer. CentriKid is for kids who have just finished grades 3 - 6.
On Wednesday Nights we have been talking about Kevin & Dinda - two Indonesian children we will be sponsoring as a children's ministry. Each of our kids has been challenged to try and bring $2 every month - one for both Kevin and Dinda. This money goes to Compassion International to ensure Kevin and Dinda have food, clean water, clothes, are getting an education, and are hearing about Jesus. This is a great way to get your child thinking about missions and being more globally-minded. Cheerfully in Christ, Jeremy

To My Church Family,
Thank you for considering
me as a recipient for the
church grant this spring
semester. I am lucky to have such a
wonderful church family.
Always, Amanda McDonald
Dear Church Family,
Thank you for supporting me as I
further my education at union college.
I greatly appreciate being awarded the
educational grant as it is being put to
great use as I pursue a biology degree
with the hopes of becoming a dietitian
in the future. Your prayers and words
of encouragement mean the world to
me while I am away at school.
With love, Emily Couch
