Also on Sunday, several of our musical groups will be participating in “Christmas on the Hill” hosted by the Merchants of Spring Hill and held in the parking lot of Trustmark Bank throughout the afternoon. Our Junior High hand bells will be playing, some of our children’s choirs will be singing, and “The Messengers” will also be singing at different points in the afternoon. The schedule of our groups’ appearances is as follows: Jr. High Ringers and Young Musicians Children’s Choir-1:30 p.m. Messengers-2:45 p.m. Music Makers Children’s Choir and Ensemble-3:15 p.m. We are entering the season of gift giving. As you make purchases for others, I hope you will also make plans to give generously to the ongoing work of the local church and to international missions. Our goal this year for the annual Lottie Moon Christmas offering for international missions is $26,000. This is an offering we get to support over and above our regular tithes and offerings to the general budget of the church. I hope you will join me in joyfully giving not only to reach our 2017 budgetary needs, but also to meet our Lottie Moon offering goal so that we can continue to send missionaries around the world to tell people about Jesus. As a reminder, 100% of the dollars given to this fund go directly to international missions. I look forward to celebrating with you as we meet and surpass this goal soon! M y family and I were able to take some days around Thanksgiving to be on vacation. I was grateful for the time off and thankful Dr. Fenton was able to preach in my absence. It was wonderful to have some time to hike, play, think, and rest. While the time away was good, it was also good to come back to Mobile, decorate our house for Christmas, and turn our attention to the days leading up to Christmas. Speaking of the Christmas season, so many exciting things are occurring within the life of Spring Hill Baptist Church! You will notice as you come on campus that we have begun the process of decorating for Christmas. From the wreaths on our doors to the advent candles and the many other decorations in our sanctuary and dining room, our campus is being transformed into a Christmas wonderland. As you take in the sights around campus, I hope you will express thanks to our flower committee, our maintenance staff, and the many other volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to help everything come together. Beyond the decorations, I hope you will take a couple of minutes and review the activities coming up in this Christmas season even as I highlight some of those below. This coming Sunday we will elect new deacons for the 2018 year. There will be a ballot in your order of worship (bulletin) on Sunday morning. My family and I were able to

2018 Mission Trip to BrazilIf you are still on the fence about going to Brazil, come on and jump on the boat! We still have a couple of spots left, but Sunday, December 3 is the last chance to sign on. The trip down the Amazon will be July 1-12, 2018. Tickets are available to members Sunday, December 3 and 10 from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary Foyer, and from 9:15 until 10:00 a.m. in designated Sunday School areas. Tickets are also

available on Wednesday December 6 from 5:45 until 7:15 p.m. in the Dining Hall Foyer.

The Ticket Office will be open December 8 from 12-6:00 p.m., December 9 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., and December 11-15 from 12:00-6:00 p.m. The Ticket Office is located in our Activity Center.

Join us this Sunday, December 3rd, for Christmas on the Hill!

Christmas on the Hill is an annual community event sponsored by the Merchants of Spring Hill.

This event will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. this Sunday, December 3.

Our Music Ministry is heavily involved by providing several groups on the stage located at the Trustmark Bank at the

corner of McGregor Avenue and Old Shell Road. Our groups will be featured at the following times:

1:30 p.m.-Junior High Handbells & Young Musicians Children’s Choir

2:45 p.m.-The Messengers

3:15 p.m.-Music Makers Children’s Choir and Ensemble

Please bring your wrapped Angel Tree gifts to the Activities Center no later than Thursday, December 7. Thank you so much for providing a great Christmas for a prisoner’s child. Volunteers are needed to deliver Angel Tree gifts. Gifts will be available for pick up at the Spring Hill Baptist Activities Center (SHAC) beginning Saturday, December 9 and may be picked up anytime thereafter within the SHAC’s normal hours of operation. Angel Tree gifts must be delivered to the families before Christmas Eve. The day of your anticipated delivery, phone numbers are provided for you to reach out to the family and let them know to expect you, ensure directions, etc. If a family is not home when you come by, you should leave the gifts at the door. We ask that delivery teams consist of AT LEAST 2 ADULTS.
