The I n t e r n a t i o n a l A s s o c i a t i o n for Gender-Spec i f ic Medic ine
Worldwide interest in the burgeoning science of gender-specific medicine, evident at the First Inter- national Congress for Gender-Specific Medicine in Berlin this winter, underscored our need for an international association of interested scholars from all disciplines to facilitate communication and collaboration in expanding our knowledge of this important field. Accordingly, Dr. Vera Regitz- Zagrosek of the Charit~ in Berlin, Dr. Karin Schenck-Gustafsson of the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, and I (Marianne Legato) have founded The International Association for Gender-Specific Medicine.
Membership will be free for the first year, and we will elect our first officers at the Second Inter- national Congress for Gender-Specific Medicine, planned for 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden. Members of the Association will receive a subscription to our journal, Gender Medicine, as well as discounted registration fees for our conferences. We will also publish a list of registered members annually in the journal.
Many conference attendees have already joined us, and we hope you will too. You can register for membership in the Association by e-mailing any one of the founders, below.
