Dear Professional Colleagues, In today's era, the scope of services rendered by Chartered Accountants has extended beyond routine accounting and auditing jobs. The services rendered by Chartered Accountants in the area of Management Consultancy, Assurance and in other non traditional areas reflect their expertise in multiple diverse areas. The members of ICAI have been progressively raising their standards to meet the global parameters ensuring transparency and accountability. Dear Professional Colleagues, The Young Members Empowerment Committee (YMEC) of the ICAI, endeavours to provide a platform to generate ideas that will interest and engage young members while enhancing their professional skill set. The objective of YMEC is to visualize the future needs of the young members entering into the profession and to gear up the professionals for facing dynamic challenging environment. Dear Professional Colleagues, The Young Members Empowerment Committee (YMEC) has been constituted to provide our young Chartered Accountants a gateway to expand their abilities and to enable them to be fully responsive to the requirements of the emerging economic scenario. To accelerate the Capacity Building Measures for our young Chartered Accountants, YMEC has been taking various measures to expand the knowledge of our young CAs and make them aware of the latest trends and developments. Action Plan of Committee for the Year 2016-17

YMEC Workshops/Seminars during April to June, 2016

This year,YMEC would like to give emphasise on various activities, few of them are as follows-

To organize programmes for young members wherein members working as Entrepreneurs or in Public

Services be invited.

To develop and motivate young members as Entrepreneurs and as Civil Servants viz., IAS, IPS, IRS etc.

To Organize Programmes in mofussil areas & wherein Chartered Accountants from Industry be invited to

share their experiences.

Involvement of Mentors by way of inviting them as guest speakers in programmes, video recordings &

uploading of lectures on YMEC Web Portal, webcast etc

To organize Programmes and Publish Young Members’ Publication in which topics like how to appear

before Appellate Authority/ Direct Taxation/ Indirect Taxation/ Office Documentation/ Office

Automation etc. would be included.

Young Members Empowerment Committee has been taking various measures to expand the knowledge of young

CAs by organizing various programmes/Seminar/ Workshops/ Webcasts on contemporary topics and help them

to crack civil services. Apart from these initiatives, YMEC is planning to organize various Programmes to develop

entrepreneurship skill which help them and their clients to grow their business. For getting further details about

Seminars organized by the Committee in the period of April, 16 to June, 2016 are given as under:

1. Workshop on Recent Amendments under Income Tax Act & Practice Development Strategy for Young

CAs held on 8th April, 2016 in Delhi.

2. Seminar on Recent Developments in Professional Arena held on 17th April, 2016 at Patna Jointly organized

with Internal Audit Standards Board.

3. Workshop on Professional Opportunities for Young Members, Office Automation and ICDS & Preparation

of Appeals held on 8th May, 2016 at Hotel East Park, Bilaspur.

4. Workshop on CARO 2016, Entrepreneurship and Startup Skills for Young CAs& Forensic Audit held on

14.05.2016 at Ghaziabad.

5. Workshop on Scope and Opportunities for Young Members in Practice and Service held on 22.05.2016 at

Hotel Arif Castle, Lucknow.th th6. Residential Refresher Course on 17 to 19 June, 2016 at Hotel Ambrosia Sarovar Portico, Haridwar.

7. Workshop on Mentoring for Management & Soft Interpersonal Skill Development ICAI Bhawan, Teenbattith thMore, Siliguri held on 18 and 19 June, 2016.

8. Seminar on Entrepreneurship & Start up “Moving Towards Professional Excellence” on 26th June, 2016 at

With the Aim of imparting the Business Leadership skills, Managerial skills, personality development,

network building for career growth, YMEC has initiated an innovated measure to provide a platform to

Young CAs to engross themselves directly in the activities of ICAI by Active Participation in YMEC

Programs.

In order to avail this opportunity of active involvement in YMEC’s various Programs, young CAs may

submit their area of Interest, choice of time and place of availability across the country along with other

details by filling this online form for their role at YMEC portal .The

interested Members may be called in programme and meetings from time to time as per their interested areas

as and when needed throughout the year.

The Committee had uploaded following videos on YMEC portal recently and in process of uploading more

motivational videos and video lectures of eminent Speakers on various contemporary topics.
