BRISBANE INSIDER GUIDE visitbrisbane.com.au
In Brisbane, there is nothing stopping you from getting outside and enjoying yourself. The endless sunshine, coupled with more than 1 820 parks and reserves mean there are plenty of places to get active or sit back and watch the world go by. Visitors and locals alike can grab a blanket and settle in among the lush grounds of inner city sanctuaries including the City Botanic Gardens, South Bank Parklands, Roma Street Parkland and New Farm Park.
Just west of Brisbane, you will find the sprawling hills and rainforests of the D’Aguilar National Park which is just one of the spectacular National Parks surrounding Brisbane. The wonderful Scenic Rim is just an hour away and includes World Heritage listed National Parks, public camping spots and some amazing walking trails.
Moreton Bay Marine Park, east of Brisbane is bursting with beautiful marine life and islands with rugged coastlines just waiting to be explored.

BUSHWALKING TIPSWEAR COMFORTABLE, PROTECTIVE FOOTWEAR Shoes including thongs, high heels, new shoes and dress shoes are not suitable – get blisters and you won’t have much fun!
WEAR A HAT AND SUNSCREEN Be sunsafe to avoid painful sunburn. Bring along insect repellent to discourage mozzies and bugs.
LOOK BUT DON’T TOUCH! Wild animals, unlike pets and domestic animals are not used to human handling. You might get hurt if you try to pat a wild animal.
TAKE A RAINCOAT Walking in the rain can be fun provided you’re not dripping wet.
TAKE A SMALL BACKPACK Take extra clothes and leave extra space for any clothes you shed when you get hot. Water and a few nibbles will keep you going.
BE PREPARED Take extra water, a detailed map and a compass on longer walks.
