Quality Check

• John Deere Reman alternatorunits have stator leads properlypositioned and soldered intoplace by creating a mechanicaland electrical connection.

• John Deere Reman tests everyalternator to ensure the productmeets OEM specifications beforeshipment from the John DeereReman facility.

• Insufficient wire contact cancause decreased outputcurrent. This can lead to lessthan optimal electricalperformance of the machineand/or mechanical failure.

• John Deere is unsure if otheralternators are put throughthe same performance testsbefore shipping.

Stator Windings

• John Deere Reman units havethe stators washed andcleaned, then a fresh coat ofvarnish applied to windingsto help protect againstelectrical shorts.

• This increases the life andperformance of the product.

• Dirt buildup restricts the airflow around windings, whichcan cause heat to build thatcan lead to electrical shorts.

Insulators

• The upmost care is taken inmanufacturing John DeereReman units to ensureinsulators are not melted inthe soldering process.

• John Deere Remanalternators meet or exceedoriginal OEM specifications.

• Having the slip ring wiretouch the pole pieces couldlead to a an electrical shortand creating no output fromthe alternator.

• Ensure insulators are notmelted which could causean electrical short circuit.

Slip Ring Lead

• John Deere Reman ensuresthat the coil wire wrapsaround the slip ring lead andis properly soldered togetherto the original OEM process.

• Poor electrical connectionscan cause higher resistanceof the rotor which causeslow output.

• The joint can also break,causing loss of all outputfrom the alternator if notproperly soldered.

Rotor Shaft

• John Deere Reman rotorshafts are polished andgauged for dimensions thatmeet OEM specifications.

• Undersized or worn shaftscan have a loose fit andcause the bearing andpulley to wear outprematurely.

Thru Bolts

• John Deere Reman alternatorshave proper length thru boltsper application to allow forinstallation of chaff screen ifrequired.

• Chaff Screens keep debris frombuilding up inside the alternator.

• If alternators do not havelong enough through boltsper application, the chaffscreen cannot be installed.
