About the LendIt Conference LendIt is the preeminent conference dedicated exclusively to the burgeoning P2P and online lending industry. It is the must-attend event for all fund managers, asset allocators, family offices, venture capitalists and individual investors who are looking to understand how Peer-to-Peer and online lending (collectively, “online lending”) are revolutionizing the credit markets and transforming the global banking industry. Today’s conference will showcase online lending platforms from across the globe, the ecosystem of Big Data companies that are serving the sector, as well as the Wall Street firms that are providing innovative financing structures and investment capital to this rising asset class. LendIt is proudly produced by Lend Academy, the leading educational resource for P2P and online lending; NowStreet Media, a financial media and advisory company most known for its acclaimed financial events that introduce neoteric asset classes to the investment community and Disruption Credit, an institutional investment firm focused on the global online lending industry.

About Online Lending Online lending seeks to exploit the structural mispricing and funding inefficiencies in the traditional banking sector. Through the use of technology, online lenders are able to compress the cost of originating, servicing, and funding traditional loans. As a result, borrowers receive a lower interest rate while lenders receive a very attractive rate of return. Online lending marketplaces have emerged globally for personal loans, student loans, small business loans, and auto loans. With interest rates at all-time lows and big banks hording cash, online lending marketplaces have tapped into a variety of investor sources ranging from large pension funds all the way down to self-directed individual investors. The online lending sector was originally discovered by individual investors, who have been the backbone of the industry since it origins in 2006. Individuals have generated healthy returns while providing lower cost capital to grateful borrowers. As a result, the marketplaces have expanded rapidly and, more recently, institutional investors have taken notice as the sector has matured. 2012 felt like a tipping point for the industry as capital flowed into the industry and a number of high profile investors entered the market. We are now witnessing the emergence of many new well-funded lending portals across the globe.

www.sinolending.com - Named the “Lending Club of China”, SinoLending offers an online marketplace where members borrow and lend money to each other. Lenders earn returns well above those from bank deposits and wealth management products while borrowers pay rates significantly lower than they do to traditional credit institutions. Headquartered in Shanghai, SinoLending was founded in April 2012 by Soul Htite, co-founder and former Head of Technology at Lending Club. In this era of big data, our industry leading technology platform similar to that of Lending Club, yet tailored to the Chinese market, allows us to effectively seize business opportunities. Our senior risk management team and comprehensive credit models rival those of local banks. Our strategic alliance with local industry pioneers like ID5, a leading personal identity information service provider, and China Orient Asset Management Corporation, a state-owned finance company, ensures that we conduct operations at the highest compliance standards. With a strategic focus on small-and-medium enterprises, we target the 42 million SMEs that receive inadequate access tostate-owned banks. Our online platform has been operating since November 2012 and following a successful public launch in March 2013, our total loan origination has rapidly reached ¥33 million ($5.5 mm) as of May 2013. Typical loan size averages at ¥600,000 ($100,000) and can go up to ¥5 million with interest rates around 19%.

www.SocietyOne.com.au - Launched in August 2012, SocietyOne is Australia’s only active and first

fully compliant Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending platform. With headquarters in Sydney, SocietyOne is at the forefront of a major shift in consumer behavior towards P2P lending in Australia. SocietyOne connects borrowers and investors in a secure, safe and professional online environment using its unique proprietary technology platform, ClearMatch. By reducing the cost and complexity of the traditional bank loan with a faster, smarter way to borrow and invest, SocietyOne has a game-changing proposition that delivers real financial value to borrowers and investors alike. SocietyOne is quickly innovating in the P2P lending space, awarded "Best of Show" at Finovate's Inaugural Asia conference in 2012 with its Smart Loan mobile phone app and voted one of AlwaysOn's 2013 Top100 Private Companies in Australia & New Zealand.

www.somolend.com - SoMoLend is a debt-based funding platform that connects small business

borrowers with corporate, institutional, organization and individual lenders, such as friends and family or accredited investors. Our user-friendly platform is utilized by small businesses that need funding for their growth initiatives and investors seeking higher than public market rates of return, as well as those that want to help build their local economy through job creation. Small businesses typically pay less interest on their business loans than traditional lending sources. SoMoLend automates, speeds and simplifies the steps for loan application, review, funding progress reporting, communications between borrower and lenders, and payments. We utilize best practices to help our borrowers develop and market their campaigns. SoMoLend provides a safe, secure and transparent platform that enables investors to understand a small business before making a lending decision. SoMoLend will launch crowdfunding once the SEC issues the rules implementing the JOBS Act, which we anticipate in early 2014. SoMoLend's mission is to democratize access to capital for small businesses, and investment opportunities for average Americans, not just the wealthy.

changed forever.

With over $1.9 billion in loans issued Lending Club is quickly moving towards the mainstream of consumer finance.

Peer to peer lending can no longer be ignored as a passing fad, it is clearly here to stay. The Lending Club Story is

the first book ever published about Lending Club, the world’s largest p2p lender. It is part storytelling, part

investment guide and part reference book.

In this book Peter Renton, the founder of Lend Academy, explains:

• What is peer to peer lending and why it is becoming so popular

• How Lending Club went from just an idea to $1 billion in loans in less than six years

• How a little startup called Lending Club thrived during and after the financial crisis while some of the largest

companies on Wall Street were collapsing

• How investors are benefiting from this new kind of investment

• How the borrowing process works at Lending Club

• What the future holds for this fast growing company

Many intelligent investors from successful hedge funds as well as small mom and pop investors are moving money

Google's Investment into Crowdfinance - A Defining Moment for the Financial Markets By Dara Albright, Founder of NowStreet www.nowstreetjournal.com May 6, 2013 Since 2006, P2P & online lending have enjoyed explosive growth. Lending Club and Prosper, America’s two largest P2P lenders have now surpassed $2B in loan origination, and P2P has captured the attention of industry legends, the financial media, the investing public and even today’s technology giants. Lending Club’s board is comprised of such recognized leaders as former Visa Inc. President Hans Morris; the former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence H. Summers; Morgan Stanley Chairman Emeritus John Mack and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers general partner Mary Meeker. Prominent venture capitalist firms invested in the sector include: Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, Union Square Ventures, Foundation Capital, Thomvest and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Buyers. But the industry reached a new pinnacle last Thursday when Google announced it has led a $125 million deal to buy a stake in Lending Club from existing investors. This transaction values Lending Club at $1.55 billion - nearly tripling the valuation of its last fund-raising round less than a year ago. Upon the announcement hitting the wires, @lendingclub enjoyed well over 5,000 mentions on Twitter (compared with 5-10 on a typical day), and at its peak averaged 5-7 tweets per minute. “Google’s investment into Lending Club is further evidence of the current sea change that has begun in financial services. It signals a decisive moment for the validity of P2P lending, the disruption of traditional banking as well as the convergence of finance and information technology. I look forward to hearing Lending Club’s CEO, Renaud Laplanche, discuss the implications of the Google investment at next month’s LendIt conference, the world’s first conference dedicated exclusively to the P2P & online lending industry,” stated Peter Renton, Founder of Lend Academy & author of The Lending Club Story, the definitive guide to the world’s leading peer-to-peer lender.

Although momentous for the consumer credit sector, many have been wondering how P2P’s triumphs relate to securities-based crowdfunding. The fact is, because P2P lending is the precursor to securities-based crowdfunding, its achievements are not only dramatically impacting the emerging crowdfunding industry, they are helping shape it. Securities-based crowdfunding or “Peer-to-Business (P2B)” is simply the next iteration of P2P. However, instead of peers providing personal loans to its peers, securities-based crowdfunding will allow peers to invest in the businesses of its fellow peers in exchange for equity or debt. By demonstrating that people are more efficient at financing each other through the use of social media than with conventional banking intermediaries, P2P has effectively validated the “crowdfinance” model for the entire industry, even compelling the financial establishment to enter the fray. In just seven years, P2P lending has not only awakened Wall Street and secured funding from many of the same venture capitalists that had the foresight to fund some of the most disruptive industries in history, it has attracted the attention and capital from the world’s most prominent Internet company. While we can all speculate on what interest a search engine would have in social finance, one cannot help but view Google’s assimilation of P2P as a defining moment for the global financial markets. As the next evolution of “fintech” (the union between finance and technology) descends rapidly upon us, traditional banking methods and financing structures are about to become as obsolete as the phone booth. Much like P2P’s prominence began escalating after the SEC effected the rules for P2P lending in 2008, upon the implementation of title III of the JOBS Act, expect securities-crowdfunding to quickly garner similar enthusiasm from the Street, the venture community, and yes, even tech behemoths. As P2P continues to mark major milestones, it is paving the way for the mainstream adoption of securities-based crowdfunding. As such, P2P’s achievements should be carefully observed as well as celebrated by the entire crowdfunding movement. Securities-based crowdfunding is tomorrow’s P2P.
