THE DECLINEIn the late 14TH century, the Western Roman Empire crumbled after a nearly a 500-year run. Historians believe the collapse was due to hundreds of different factors from military failures and taxation to natural disasters and even climate change. Still others argue that the Roman Empire didn’t really fall in 476 A.D. since it’s eastern half continued for another thousand years.
