My Story …
Diagnosed with rare blood disease 1992Platelets were 7,000 (supposed to be 150,000 – 400,000)Auto-immune disease (ITP Idiopathetic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, what???)Failed every treatment. Did I say every treatment? Yes, I did.
My Connection to Dr. Sweiss & UIC...
No hope for me medically - all known treatments exhausted (that made two of us!)I didn’t have the energy to go on any more.I had a dream that gave me hope. Hope then walked in the door of my hospital room. And her name is Dr. Nadera Sweiss.
What Can You do …
Don’t lose sight of yourself. You are NOT the disease.Don’t get the Whymeez disease. The silver lining.
What can you do?
Listen to someone who needs a friend
Laugh with others and at yourself
Learn from your mistakes and get better with each one.
So you had a down day, the good news is today is a new day!
Live to help others even when you need help yourself
Open up to each other
Offer advice to help someone
Optimism, cheer someone up
Overcome the storms in your life and help others during their storms
What can you do?
Value others
Vivacious – full of animation and spirit
Victory has nothing to do with the final score it’s how you run the race
Voice, speak kind and positive words to others
What can you do?
Endure when others quit the race a long time ago
End negative thinking and speaking
Encourage others, bring them hope
Extend a helping hand to someone you don’t know
What can you do?
How does this help?
Because
L O V E & positivity brings
healing to the soul
Love & Positivity …
Have you ever seen someone light up the room just by who they are?Be that person!
Shining bright in the darkness of disease
Love
Ignites
Goodness
Hopefulness
Thankfulness
Shining Bright …
Shine bright by the way you:think (perceive)speaklive
How do you see things?
How we “see” determines how we perceive.
perceive – 1. To become aware of directly through any of the senses, especially sight or hearing. 2. To achieve understanding.
My dad always said that most people see ...
A broken down house that brings down the value of a neighbor-hood.
But he said I would always see ...
The flower peeking up through the weeds.
Beauty is there ...
If we will just look for it.
Why is this so important?
Our perception becomes ...our realityour beliefour life
It molds who we are and everyone we meet.
Understanding
Because ...Everything we see is through “that” perspective.
Ask yourself this ...
How will you see others ,if this ...
is
all
you
see
?
Ask yourself this ...
How will you see yourself, if this ...
is
all
you
see
?
Ask yourself this ...
How will you see the world, if this ...
is
all
you
see
?
Stay focused on the good …
Let your eyes look first for the beauty ...
And then stay focused on it, once found.
Because then soon ...
Good is all that you will see …
And that’s a
beautiful
thing!!!
Thank you …
