• Some students still cannot grasp information if the sentences are too long and complex, because they are not familiar with writing activities on Memo-Sheet while listening to discourse.

RESULTS & DISCUSSION
(1) Japanese language proficiency levels N3-N4 respondents are able to write more vocabulary than respondents who have Japanese level skills
(2) Memo-Sheet recognizable vocabulary
the majority are written in romaji
(3) Findings:
- Memo notes that are recorded by most of the respondents record
the words that they do not understand, instead of noting important
words / points.
- almost some respondents can grasp key words and important points
but are still confused about reordering them in a summary form
RESULTS & DISCUSSION
O Most (70%) students' difficulty in capturing information / meaning from the material they listen to is that the speaker's speed is too fast so that it is difficult to understand what he is talking about.
O 30% of respondents said they could not understand the meaning of words, especially words they heard for the first time.
O Listening activities will be more effective when using Memo Sheets than without using them.
