CHANA MASALA is a quintessential Indian dish which is equally appropriate at a dinner party or weeknight supper,” says VANITA ASHAT,

a cooking school coordinator.

Baked potatoes night after night can suck the life out of any dinner creation. Step outside your comfort zone and use these spuds to make a dish inspired by the cuisine of India.

This two-potato Chana Masala is a great option for anyone new to South-Asian flavours or South-Asians looking to take their household favourite to the next level.

"This two-potato version is hearty and rich, plus it's vegan and gluten-free." >>>

The students at Streetsville Secondary School have had a very exciting start to their second semester. One of the highlights so far has been the senior girls volleyball team. Streetsville hosted Applewood Heights on February 18th for the tier 2 finals. After a nail-biting game from beginning to end, the Streetsville Tigers came out on top with a 17-15 victory in the fifth and final set. The team is now headed to Kenora for OFSAA and we wish them the best! Other exciting news for the students at Streetsville is the announcement of the sec-ond annual Snowball semi-formal dance in March. The semi-formal last year was a great success, and this year, it will be even bigger and better. The Staff and students are really looking forward to a night of fun, music and dancing.Streetsville SS takes pride in giving back and serving the community. In February, the In-terac club hosted a Valentine’s day skate at Vic Johnson arena where all proceeds went

to help acid attack victims. In March, Streetsville is also having its annual Cops for Cancer fund raiser at Vic Johnson arena where a staff and student hockey team will play against a team of Peel’s finest with all proceeds going to cancer research. The School is also hosting a two part evening series for parents called “Internet Safety, What Parents Need to Know” with Key Note Speakers Steve Chapelle, Dr. Karris del Rozario and Peel police.Lastly, in the first week of March, Streetsville SS is hosting a mental wellness week pro-moting good mental health. Various activities are taking place throughout the week such as yoga, Zumba, colouring therapy and the use of therapy dogs. For more information, you can visit the Streetsville Secondary school Website, Facebook page follow them on Twitter @StreetsvilleSS.

The day saw community speakers, vendors and a parade of beautiful prom dresses provided by Nana Couture in Streetsville. Mississauga personality Randy Persaud emcee’d and Mayor Bonnie Crombie was on hand for the ribbon cutting.

CORDLESS DRILL/DRIVER.This portable power tool makes light work of drilling holes and driving screws.

LEVELS.A 4-ft bubble level is best used on large surfaces – the smaller torpedo level works nicely in confined spaces.

COMBINATION SQUARE.This square is used to position hardware, such as hinges on doors, and to check right and 45˚ angles.

CARPENTER'S PENCIL.The pencil's flat design keeps it from rolling off surfaces and it is used for marking and laying out hardware.

UTILITY KNIFE AND PUTTY KNIFE.A utility knife will handle most cutting and trimming jobs. You'll need a putty knife for filling holes and patching.

MITER BOX.This tool is used with a handsaw to cut accurate 45˚ and 90˚ angles. The miter box is most often used for cutting trim and molding to length.

SCREWDRIVERS.Your toolkit should include different sizes in both Phillips and Robertson. Or, you can consider at four-in-one screwdriver that holds four bits - two standard and two Phillips, which should meet most jobs.

SAFETY GEAR:Eye and ear protection; dust mask or respirator; knee pads; work gloves; work boots; and, a good first aid kit.

For best results, look for quality in the tools you select and invest in a tool bag or carry-all to keep your essentials well organized and easily accessible.
