Canada’s Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute ShowJuly 27 JANE BUNNETT and Maqueque

august 17 FULLSET

Please join us in welcoming Paul Anthony (Johnny Cash), Kurk Bernard, Steve Petrie & Bill Carruthers. Johnny Cash spent his life writing music and telling the stories of people from all walks of life, people from both sides of the track. Our Mission (CASH) is to continue telling the Johnny Cash Story with the sounds and storyline of the ‘Man In Black’ Johnny Cash.

Canadian saxophonist Jane Bunnett has assembled an exciting new sextet featuring the finest young women musicians in Cuba. Maqueque consists of Jane and virtuoso drummer Yissy García, percussionist Dayme, Yusa on tres guitar and fretless bass, pianist Danae, and Magdelys on batás and congas. They are a blend of traditional Cuban music with folkloric rhythms and jazz.

“The blazing energy they possess is matched with confident instrumental skill and imaginative outcome” - John O’Regan, Irish Music Magazine, “Every time I hear music such as this delivered with the vitality, skill and passion offered by bands like Full Set, I’m hooked”-Tim Carroll, www.folkwords.com

july 13 STUART LAUGHTON august 03 ALANA BRIDGEWATER

august 24 LIONA BOYD accompanied by Michael Savona

Stuart has played many stages; the Edmonton Folk, Ottawa Blues and Mariposa festivals with the Porkbelly Futures band he founded or Vienna’s Konzerthaus with Canadian Brass, or most recently in the Dora Keogh Irish Pub in Toronto, where RADIO DIAL was born. Stuart’s enthusiasm has also made him Founder and Artistic Director of The Forest Festival in Haliburton, Ontario.

“Bridgewater is maturing rapidly as a soloist. Wow, what a voice! Her powerful range touched gentle sultry moods while her body shook almost in a gentle jingle while her instrument filled the theatre with that feeling of soothing authority...” – Trinidad Guardian

Celebrated five time JUNO Award winner, Liona Boyd has recently released her new album “The Return...to Canada with Love. Inspired by Liona’s return to her homeland after spending the last twenty years living in the United States, the album is a powerful mix of nostalgia, romanticism and storytelling, with just a dash of patriotism.

July 20 BORIS BROTT ORCHESTRA august 10 JAYME STONE’S Lomax Project With Eli West, Margaret Glaspy, Brittany Haas & Greg Garrison

Boris Brott is one of the most internationally-recognized Canadian conductors, holding major posts as music director in Canada and the United States. This season for Music at Fieldcote, the Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Bloody Assizes as well as Beethoven’s Wellington March.

Celebrating the work of famed folklorist and field recording pioneer Alan Lomax, this collaboratory brings together some of North America’s most distinctive and creative roots musicians to revive, recycle and re-imagine traditional music. The repertoire includes Bahamian sea chanties, African-American a cappella singing from the Georgia Sea Islands, Old World weavers’ work songs, ancient Appalachian ballads, field hollers, fiddle tunes and ring shouts.
