The Wall Street Crash of 1929 was one of the main causes of the Great Depression. On “Black Tuesday,” October 29, 1929, the stock market lost $14 billion, making the loss for that week $30 billion.

A weak banking system, over-production of goods, over spending, and a bursting credit bubble were some of the other reasons that the Great Depression took place as well.

This depression had hit worldwide and unemployment had risen more than ever before. Children were not going to school any longer and those in the midwest began to run out of food due to drought and erosion.
