Dear Parents, Bravo to our wonderful 7 th & 8 th Graders who hosted the 8:00am Mass on Sunday, March 1: Penelope Eull, Dean Staso, Alyssa Mc Pheeters, Breanna Carrillo and Jeremy Engel for their outstanding participation as Readers, Greeters and Presenters of the Gifts. I am so proud of them. Also, a big thank you to our Junior High teachers: Jeannie Haworth and Dianne Staso for all their help. We are very excited this year about our service project for Lent. We are having a can drive for our Parishs Feed the NeedyMinistry. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday parish volunteers serve soup, sandwiches and canned fruit to the homeless and poor in our community. As you can imagine it takes many donations and loving hands to do this. Linda Cabibbo is the Feed the Needy coordinator for our parish. We are most grateful to her for all her help in this endeavor! All cans need to be size 14.5oz. Chicken Broth, Chicken Noodle, Peas, Green Beans, Baked Beans, Corn, Carrots, Mixed Vegetables, Peas and Carrots, Chili, Kidney Beans, Chili Beans and Tuna. For fruit the following is great: Peach, Pears, Fruit Cocktail, Pineapple Chunks and Mandarin Oranges. Also, pastas such as: Spaghetti and Pasta Rotini would be appreciated. We hope you will take your son or daughter with you to the grocery store so they will have the opportunity to choose the cans they want to donate. Thank you so much for your participation in our Lenten Activity of helping the poor and homeless in our community. Important announcement! See other side of Newsletter for an important announcement about our Second Year Wednesday Teacher Christine King!! I am pleased to attach the March issue of Partners in Faith. Three highlights are: Nurturing faith in children requires regular attention, the right ingredients, and help from experts. The main article on page one explains how parents can plant seeds of faith in children that will bloom throughout life. Daily attention to God can be difficult to achieve in the pace of busy life. Blessing object and items we use in daily life consecrates them to Our Lord and helps us to be mindful of him when we use them. The main article on page two explains. One parent details the struggles of wiggly children during Mass and how her pastor helped her to solve them. I hope you enjoy these articles. May God bless each of you in a very special way this Lenten Season and remember to serve is a sign of lovedo something special for someone each day of Lent. God bless you! THE GOOD NEWS MARCH 2020
