Homeless definition
An individual who lacks a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence; this includes persons who reside in the following:

A supervised public or privately operated shelter designed to provide temporary living accommodations (including welfare hotels, congregate shelters, and transitional housing for the mentally ill);
A public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings.

Emergency Shelter
– An immediate response to homelessness.
Transitional Housing
– Housing in which homeless persons live for up to 24 months and receive supportive services that enable them to live more independently.
