• To give an overview of School -based PE Apprenticeships –PE Premium
• To consider upskilling of existing staff with Apprenticeship Levy

Who are Sporting Futures Training?
• Sporting Futures Training UK Ltd - Learning Provider established August 2011 for school – based PE and School Sports Apprentices – Register of Apprenticeship Providers
• Lead Provider also Sub-contracted to work with KEITS – Herts based company
• Have negotiated the Apprenticeship Reforms and can support schools with queries
• Both Directors were invited to co-chair the special interest group for Education and Schools for the Association of Employers and Learning Providers – AELP
• Both Directors have sat on the Trailblazers for the new Teaching Assistant and Teaching Apprenticeship Standards
• Working with centre approval to deliver qualifications through Active IQ, Cache, NCFE, 1st4 Sport, Edexcel, Ascentis and Sports Leaders UK, NCFE

– 16-18 yr olds bring £1000 additional support Government incentive.
• Schools can employ PE Apprentice to provide increased opportunities for participation during lunchtime/after school activities
• Extra pair of hands to support PE Co-ordinator in primary
• Positive role model for young people
• Support in raising the profile of PE and School Sport within school and the community
• Engaging young people through healthy lifestyle agenda
• Home-grown coaching workforce that can be nurtured and developed into Teaching support for PE
• If trained within the SGO model they can provide the link with the local PE and School Sport network, thus enhancing opportunities for the linked school

Commitment from SchoolsYou will need to have a mentor within your setting and their role would be :
• To ensure Apprentice is given appropriate workload
• To support Apprentice within their school setting and be point of contact for both Apprentice and Lead Tutor
• To attend an introductory briefing with Lead Tutor to outline program
• Where and when possible to observe and monitor performance of Apprentice
• Ensure Apprentice is given appropriate break times and access to lunch
• Access to a computer and email important.

Wages 2018-2019• Employed and hosted within a primary, secondary or special school
Apprenticeship wages – based on 30 hr a week – 52 wk contract
• Intermediate Apprenticeship ( Approx’) – April 2018 Wages outline
• £111 a week for 52 weeks. You wont be expected to take holiday time during term time. £5772
•
• 19 plus will be paid the same in their first year of an apprenticeship with a potential negotiated uplift for experience.
• Advanced Apprenticeship (Approx’)
• 19 plus in the second year of an apprenticeship will be paid £5.90 /hr £177 a week £9204
• 21 plus in second year - 7.38 /hr = £221.40 /Week = £11515.80
