TheFrederickFilmFestival2012
The2012FrederickFilmFestival,the4thyearfilmeventbringingpremierefilms,filmprofessionals,andspecialfilmeventshasentereditsfinalmonthoffilmsubmissionsfortheupcomingJune22-24,2012event.
April5,2012--Thefestivalwillfeatureaboutadozenfeaturefilmsandover50shortfilmsspreadovertwovenues:TheWeinbergCenterfortheArtsandTheCulturalArtsCenterindowntownFrederick,Maryland.FeaturefilmsalreadyselectedforthisyearseventincludetheSXSWpremierefeaturePavilion,theOscarnominatedshortTimeFreak,andtheacclaimedthrillerPig.
ThisyearthefestivalcontinuestohighlightFrederickregionalfilmwithmultipleshortsandfeaturefilmsmadeinoraroundMaryland.Filmmakerguests,cast,andcrewmemberswillbeonhandthroughouttheweekendandtherearenumerousopportunitiesforaudiencememberstointeractwiththefilmmakersaswellaslocalcommunitymembersaboutthetopicsofthefilms.
Otherpre-festivaleventsscheduledforthisyearincludeinternationalchildrensmoviesattheDelaplaineVisualArtsEducationCenteronJune2and3,adocumentaryonFrederickartistCharlesForsythescreenedataneventwiththeartistandthefilmmakerpresent,akickoffmusicalevent,andaspecialfeaturecalledEduardoSanchezPresentswhereSanchez,directorofTheBlairWitchProject,willstascreeningofafilmofhischoicelateintotheevening.

Filmmakersareencouragedtosubmittheirfilmsforconsiderationinthefestival.ThefinaldeadlineforconsiderationinthisyearsfestivalisApril30,2012(filmmustbepostmarkedbythatdate).Completeentryinformationandsubmissionformsareavailableonthewebsite,justclicksubmissions.ThefullschedulewillbeannouncedMay15th,2012.
TheFrederickFilmFestivaltheF3isaresultofapartnershipbetweenFrederickspremiereperformingartsvenue,theWeinbergCenterfortheArts,andFredericksfilmorganizationCinemArts,whohavebeenbringingunderscreened,independent,
andforeignfilmtoFrederickonabiweeklybasisfornearly7years.
Thepurposeofthepartnershipistoprovideanopportunityforaworld-classfilmfestivalinFrederickandtopromoteawiderangeoffilms.Filmsonthescheduleincludeacclaimedforeignfilms,documentariesandindependentfilms,mostbeingshownforthefirsttimeinFrederick,someforthefirsttimeintheregion,andsomeforthefirsttimeontheEastCoast.TheF3alsofeaturesworksfromMarylandfimmakers.
