Worship Notes

Welcome to Christ Our Savior Lutheran on this late summer weekend. We are gathered to hear God’s Word of the Gospel, to pray and to praise him. May you receive the blessings God intends for those who worship him!

In today’s Holy Gospel someone asks Jesus, “Are only a few people going to be saved?” (Lk 13:23). The Lord’s answer is basically a warn-ing, as are all today’s Scripture Lessons, to all those who believe they’ll go to heaven: the door is narrow and while it is open to all (First Les-son), it’s only open for a while.

Today’s sermon will explore the Second Lesson for information on where the door to heaven is actually located and what it takes to go through it.

The photo on the cover of this bulletin is the view from atop Mt Sinai.

Membership at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church There are over 200 member households at COS. Church membership is based on a confessed unity in the Bible’s teachings and commitment to the mission, ministry, and members of this congregation.

Receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion here says, among other things, that you are so united and committed. Our New Life in Christ seminar provides the information needed in order to decide about church membership. Speak with Pastor, if interested in participating in the next seminar over the first weekend in November.

COS is a member congregation of the Wis-consin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

Associate Pastor Called Rev. Steve Hahm is holding the call to be our associate pastor. He is currently serving Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is married to Heather, and they have four children. We pray for Pastor Hahm, his family and congregation as he makes a decision during the coming weeks. Pastor Hahm’s email is [email protected]. You are welcome to reach out to him with a note of encouragement and prayer, especially since the flooding in Louisiana has directly impacted him and his congregation.
