Introduction

over the past 40 years

energystore has focused on

supplying and installing the

highest quality cavity wall

product – energystore tLa, a

thermal lightweight aggregate

comprising expanded polystyrene

Due to a late delivery of brick the builder fell behind

schedule. By using energystore tLa over an area of

600m2 beneath the underfloor heating pipes, the

refurbishment got back on track.

energystore tLa was installed on the Monday

morning, the underfloor heating was installed

24 hours later and screed was poured on the

association on previous projects was the

drying time of the screed needed. 150m2

of energystore tLa was laid with a 50mm

sand/cement screed. after ten days the

moisture content in the energystore tLa

was only 5% and 1% on the screed floor.

this enabled the builder to complete all

34 houses on the development more

quickly than predicted.

energystore tLa was poured on all

three floors of this new boutique

hotel in Belfast.

Castle street is a busy area and there

was limited storage space on-site,

making energystore tLa the perfect

solution for this client.

a frame was built to take the lead

over the pump. this meant

energystore tLa could easily be

pumped over the public wall to

overcome the lack of access.

this also meant the pedestrian

walkways weren’t blocked, which

saved the client having to apply for

costly permits.

the three-floor structure had

energystore tLa installed throughout

in just one day which then dried

within 24 hours so the liquid screed

could be poured. 50m3 was installed

on a 400m2 site.
