RELAX WITH A GOOD DVD: One Hit From Home (DVD)—an inspirational family film that explores the unpredictability of life. Grace Unplugged (DVD)—should there be a struggle between fame, faith & family? Escape (DVD)—how far is far enough to run from God? Last Ounce of Courage (DVD)—an intergenerational story about family and taking a stand for cherished beliefs.

SUMMERTIME READING: Patchwork of Lies by Sharon Dunn (F)— Shannon is the only witness to a robbery that happened during the Apple Festival. But a discovery of a murder raises the stakes to a deadly game of cat & mouse. Crossing Oceans by Gina Holmes (F)—a remarkable story that will bring a family back together again to discover a love that saves us when nothing else can. Love is a Verb by Gary Chapman (177.7)—love isn’t just a feeling. Love is a choice, and love is something we all need to do.

4TH OF JULY FUN FACTS: 1. Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the official national bird. 2. Over150 million hot dogs are consumed on Independence Day. That’s about 2 for every 2 people in the U.S. 3. The stars in the American flag were arranged in a circle to represent equality between the original 13 colonies. 4. The 4th of July was not declared a national holiday until 1941. Although the Declaration of Independence has been celebrated since July 1777.

MINISTRIES AND OPPORTUNITIES

Luke 18:15-17 NIV

People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have Him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to Him and said “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

All children are precious to Jesus and should be precious to us. So many children throughout the world are living in poverty, without medical help, without schooling, without proper housing or clothing. But, with our help, by sponsoring a child, we can change his or her life.

Compassion International provides schooling, clothing, medical exams, help for families and most importantly, the children learn about Jesus. For just $38.00 a month all of this is taken care of. We can correspond with our sponsored child and can encourage them in their daily activities and show them our love.

Think about sponsoring! See you in September!
