Season’s Greetings
THE AUTHOR IS NOT KNOWN. IT WAS FOUND IN THE BILLFOLD OF COACH PAUL BEAR BRYANT, ALABAMA, AFTER
HE DIED IN 1982.
THE MAGIC BANK ACCOUNT
Imagine that you had won the following *PRIZE* in a contest:
Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your
use. However, this prize has rules:
1. Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from
you.
2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.
3. You may only spend it.
4. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another
$86,400 for that day.
5. The bank can end the game without warning. At any time, it can say, "Game
Over!" It can close the account, and you will not receive a new one.
What would you personally do? You would buy anything and everything you
wanted right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for.
Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on
yourself - right? You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you
knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?
ACTUALLY, THIS GAME IS REAL!
Shocked??? Yes!!!
Each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*. We just can't seem to see it.
The PRIZE is “TIME":
Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life.
And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is not credited to us.
What we haven't used up that day is forever lost.
Yesterday is forever gone.
Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time WITHOUT WARNING...
SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?
Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about it and
remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than
you think.
So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life! Here's wishing you a wonderful
and beautiful day.
Start spending....

I thought that you would really appreciate
this "Uplift Story" and that you would make
an effort to recognize this Associate for real-
ly going above and beyond. I met this Cus-
tomer last week while attending the Mayor's
Thanksgiving Breakfast Event. This gentle-
man ask me if I was going to the Breakfast
as we both exited out cars in the parking
garage. As we exchanged pleasantries of
introducing ourselves and in sharing our
occupations; he was over-whelmed with
telling me the story about his recent experi-
ence with one of our "Kroger Truck Driv-
ers."
I do hope that you can identify the driver shown in the attached
photo. According to the customer in the UK t-shirt, the driver witnessed
his daughter drive-off with her purse on top of her car as she left from a
gas station in a rural town (I believe it was Waddy, Ky.). The driver re-
trieved the dropped purse/wallet, found the daughter's identification,
tracked her down on his day off, returned all of the contents (money in-
cluded), and he would not accept a reward for his gesture. The Daugh-
ter's Dad was totally elated with such a wonderful act of kindness and
he wanted to make sure that we all in the world of Kroger knew about
this wonderful deed.
Please thank this gentleman and tell him that we appreciate his go-
ing the extra mile and for representing the Zenith/Trans Service Team,
as well as the Kroger Company, in a very positive & uplifting way!!

KENDALL RAY, LOUISVILLE DRIVER,
GOES THE EXTRA MILE
Anna Thomas and I visited the Indianapolis and Shelbyville terminals
the week of November 14th to kick off Mission Zero. We visited with over 130
drivers to remind them that as winter weather approaches they need to be
taking extra precautions to avoid accidents and injuries. The winter months
are always more treacherous with driving, and even walking across a parking
lot due to black ice.
Watch steps getting in and out of the truck for snow buildup and ice.
Watch for ice around dock and docks steps.
Pay close attention to others on the road give extra space around in the
event others spin and lose control.
More emergency vehicles may be out to aid motorists, so be prepared to
slow, stop or change lanes if needed.
Check the quality of your shoes to make sure they are good, skid resistant
ones.
Visibility may also be decreased, so use your headlights
and slow down!

Thomas “Hoppy” Hopwood
came to work for us in March of
2002.When looking back over
our years together, two words
keep coming to mind.: “Friend
and Professional”. Hoppy is a
friend to everyone and a true
professional in everything he does,
whether it was dealing with The Dis-
patch, Shop staff, or Kroger employ-
ees.
Hoppy was not only a milk driver,
He was also a new hire trainer and a
Smith System trainer. Hoppy decided to
hang up his milk hook on October 29,
2016. He will be greatly missed and we
hope he enjoys many years of retire-
ment. As many of his co-workers stated
at his retirement party, “They just don’t
make them like Hoppy anymore.”.
ELLEN FITZPATRICK’S
RETIREMENT

Fellow Shareholders,
I have news that is both sad
and exciting for us. Ellen
Fitzpatrick is retiring at the
end of the year. Ellen has
been an incredible asset to
the company for nineteen
years, striving for excellence
in everything she has done.
During her tenure, Ellen has insured that our ac-
counts receivable have been accurate and main-
tained at the lowest possible amount. In fact, be-
cause of her efforts, we have maintained world-
class status with regard to any past due receivables.
She will be sorely missed, but we celebrate with
her as she transitions to the next chapter of her
life! Please join me in thanking Ellen for her ser-
vice and congratulating her on her retirement!
I am a thrilled to announce
that BJ Arnold will be pick-
ing up where Ellen has left
off. BJ has been with the
company for 13 years and
has been an integral part of
our accounts payable team.
BJ started out as a reception-
ist before moving to the accounts payable
department. She brings a host of skills to the
table and will no doubt continue her success
in her new AR position. Please join me in
congratulating BJ in her new role!

CONROE, TX
TERMINAL
Recently we have been tracking pre-
trip inspections and who is and who
is not tilting the hood to check the
fluids, hoses, belts, etc. The Conroe
terminal is batting a thousand on this.
Every single driver has been observed taking the time to do a proper
pre-trip inspection. The terminal has had 42 clean DOT inspections,
and only 3 with violations. This is a testimony to their work ethic as a
group and the leadership of Mark Erkel.
The Conroe terminal is a shining example of how this should be done,
they are living Core Values # 1 and # 2 every day.
We will be Safe, Professional and Accountable in everything we do.
We will be the low-cost provider, run lean and efficient, while main-
taining the highest standards of Safety, Service, and
Compliance.
It is a pleasure working with a group of folks such as
this. Phil Tabraham
