March 12, 2020

Dear STA Families,

As you are aware, schools and districts across the country are developing emergency

response plans, as a result of the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

One of the most important considerations, of course, is the impact on student learning

that would result from a prolonged school closure. We recognize that—under such

circumstances—students will benefit from having access to learning resources.

School work will be provided via textbooks, paper packets and online learning

websites. Some textbooks and workbooks will be sent home every day as a

precaution to school closing. Please have your child bring them back to school

every day.

Grade 1-8 teachers may send textbooks and workbooks home. They will

communicate assignments via Class Dojo. Please download Class Dojo on your

phone or set up an account online https://www.classdojo.com/.

Online resources will be emailed for all subject areas. Teachers will be able to

monitor online use and progress on accounts that require logins. If a link does

not direct you to the site, please copy and paste the hyperlink in your search

browser.

General Notes on Home and E-Learning

• It is suggested to devote 1 hour to mathematics learning and 2 hours to

literacy learning (which includes independent reading and / or writing time)

per day

• It is also suggested to devote a total of 75 minutes to Religion, Science and

Social Studies per day

• Please use your discretion for learning times for your child.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. This is just a precaution. School

Is Not Closed. You will be notified by email, phone and text if St. Thomas

Aquinas closes due to health concerns.

God Bless,

Mrs. Nicole Unegbu, Principal
