Our council congratulates Brother John Walker, the 2018-19 Knight of the Year for Fr. McNelis Council No. 1481! He was nominated for the recog-nition by Br. Bernard Liscik and was selected in a vote of the mem-bership during the May 8 general council meeting.

Br. Tom Bresnahan, chairman of the Knight of the Year Com-mittee, announced his selection June 12. This is a well-deserved and long-overdue honor for our brother

who has held many formal titles and offices over his decades of service. Br. Walker has been an active member of the council for 53 years, has served as our Grand Knight, District Deputy and, most recently, Financial Secretary. He has held all chairs of the executive board and has been a council trustee. Br. Walker has been a steadfast leader of our council, a mentor

to generations of younger Knights and is the example of who we should aspire to be as Knights of Columbus.
