Creating the Layout

•Open the PowerPoint

application

•Choose the layout button

•This will open a drop menu

•Scroll through the options

•Choose one that you like

Choosing a Theme

•Locate the Design tab

•Click on tab to open

•Browse through the themes

•Choose one that suits you

Inputting Heading

•Locate and select the page

heading text box

•Choose Type of Font and

text location

•Begin typing in heading

•You do not have to hit the

enter key when the text

reaches the end of the area

Insert Clip Art

•Choose if you want to add

anything else to the page

•To insert a graphic, locate and

select the Insert tab

•Choose the object you want to

add, such as clip art or a photo

•All graphics can be resized by

clicking and dragging the

sides.

•Quality can be affected

Making it Stand out

•After choosing a graphic, text

or both for the subtitle field

spice it up some.

•You can use the shape fill

button on the Home tab to fill an

area with color

•You can also include animation

to your slide by locating and

selecting the animation tab

Modifying Effects

•After you’ve added

animation to the slide they

can be modified

•Locate and select the drop

down menu on individual

effect to change timing and

triggering of the effect

•Select play to preview

changes

Adding Slides

•Almost all presentations

have more than one slide

•Locate and select the New

Slide button at the top of the

page

•A new blank slide will

appear

•New layouts can be chosen

for the new slide at that time

following the previous steps

Slide Transition Animation

•The transition between

slides can also be animated

•Locate and select the

Animations tab

•Just below the tab are

varying types of fade in or

out’s and swipes

•Different designs can be

chosen on a slide to slide

basis

Saving Your Project

•Choose Save as

•A drop out menu will appear

•Choose PowerPoint Show to

save it as

•With this choice the

presentation will open up in

presentation show mode
