CHAPTER 1.3: FORGET ABOUT THE BOYS
So.
Before we get too into this, I need to make a formal apology.
I messed up the naming scheme. I’m sorry.
The names for this generation were supposed to spell BOO. And so far, I have BBO.
Close enough, right?
If you squint.
…Whatever. Welcome to the Crazy Eights OWBC, where everything is made up and the points don’t matter.
On the subject of botched points, I’m giving up the family scrapbook minichallenge. It’s… so much work……. And I am so lazy…………..
Like I said, points don’t matter, anyway.
On with the show!
I’d like to introduce you to Mystery Baby #2, who looks just like Benji did as a baby.
Her name is Oakleigh, pronounced oak-lee, and she’s the only girl of this generation! Brown hair, Mom’s custom blue-green eyes, and a default skintone that may be 2 or 3, I have yet to check.
Let’s see what’s going on in the rest of the house!
The flamingoes are getting excessive.
Benji and Brantley are getting some quality bro time.
And Charlie broke the toilet.
Again.
How many “look at Charlie being a dad” pictures can I take without people getting annoyed? Because these two are adorable.
Finn is a lot older than Charlie due to how long it took her to find him before they were married. So she’s hitting the keg.
That’s not against the rules, is it?
Nah.
Three days pass super quick, and then Finn and Charlie have a double birthday on their hands! Oakleigh is becoming a toddler and Brantley’s going to be a child.
Definitely cute!
Also cute! But the hair has to go.
What with the suit and all, I was getting a kind of tomboyish vibe. So she gets a short and choppy cut that clips into her chubby cheeks for now. She’ll grow into it.
These two are definitely bonding well. They’re playing game after game of Mary Mack and red hands.
I had to get a side-by-side to see what their differences really are.
If it weren’t for the skintones, they’d be pretty much identical.
Someone inherited the panda pajamas. I wonder if she takes after her brothers in hobby, too?
Of course she does!
They’re all tinkering. I told you, it’s always tinkering.
In case you needed even more proof that these two were supposed to be twins…
“At least I’m better dressed. And older!”
Right. Benji’s growing up later tonight! The plan is to ship him off to college with as many scholarships as his little hands can carry, and then continue to play this family till the rest of the kids are caught up in age. Then we can have the heir poll!
These two play together all the time. I can’t stop taking pictures.
But all things must end.
Goodbye, cute little Benji.
Okay, yeah, nevermind. Still cute.
“Nah. I’m hot now.”
Hot boy with kpop hair. Love it. And he rolled family! Perfect.
I grew Darren up with him (remember, the bowlcut kid that Benji brought home with him?), to maybe pair them up. He calls Darren to build their relationship a little bit, but for now, we’re not focusing on that.
Right now, we’re focusing on this.
Benji, I know you’ve almost maxed mechanical by now, but it’s still not enough. You need that scholarship!
“I may be smiling but my fun level is in the toilet.”
After that’s done with, it’s time to say goodbye. :(
He’s off to Academie le Tour to chill in a dorm until Brantley and Oakleigh can join him.
Bye baby! Have fun!
He’s all set up in a custom dorm. Time to ignore him until his siblings catch up!
Whoops, guess what time it is?
Oakleigh’s birthday!
…This chapter feels kind of rushed. I’m sorry. Nothing is happening! No one is doing anything interesting. Sigh.
Anyway, here’s the cutie! I contemplated changing her hair to something that doesn’t cover her eyes as much, but I think it’s okay the way it is. The glasses definitely helped, though—they make it look like she actually has eyes.
Unlike her brothers, she has her dad’s rounder nose instead of her mom’s pointier one. At least they’re not all completely identical. That would have made the heir poll hard!
She and Brantley play together a lot, but not nearly as much as Brantley and Benji did.
She has almost no relationship to Benji—he went away to college while she was still a toddler. She always rolls up wants to call him, though. Baby wants to know her big brothers!
Ah! Someone’s in the Zone!
This happened at 11:58. I love life.
I bought the junker because I know there’re so many tinkerers in the household. We’re gonna end up with a nice car!
…what?
…oh.
Obtain Genie – check!
It’s a pretty little house, but expansions are going to be necessary. I’m thinking of adding a garage and a second floor.
Well, it’s not like we have any dearth of money or space. Charlie’s job is well-paying and we don’t have many household expenses—no lights, and only a fridge and a computer, so the bills are low. No services, either. The Eights are pretty well off at this point.
And he’s glowing!
Heir + spouse must reach level 10 in hobby – check!
It’s almost time for Brantley’s birthday, so he and Oakleigh are spending some quality time together in the snowstorm before Brantley moves out.
“Put it on top!”
“I know, where else was I going to put it? Underneath?”
Whoop, there it is!
You’d better be wishing for scholarships, kid.
“No, I’m wishing that I don’t roll romance.”
Acceptable. (I despise romance sims.)
There’s the birthday boy! His hair is like twice the size of his head. Fabulous!
He rolled fortune, thank God. To the computer, young man. Get those scholarships!
Like Benji, his mechanical was nearly maxed but it still wasn’t enough for the scholarship. Unlike Benji, he didn’t bother to skill the rest of the way to earn the extra $750. The $1000 from his good grades were enough.
Off he goes. Take care of yourself!
He’s all set up in the room next to Benji.
Bye, boys! See you when Oakleigh grows up!
I think it’s best to leave off here, rather than rushing through Oakleigh’s childhood.
Stay tuned until next time, because the heir poll is coming up fast!
Thanks for reading, thanks for existing, etc. Have a lovely day!
