Controlled Assessments• Replacement for coursework.• The task may be set directly by the Awarding

Body, or it may be adapted by the school to suit the students’ learning.

• Research can be done unsupervised out of the classroom.

• Writing-up will need to be done in the classroom in normal lesson times.

• The usual practice is that controlled assessments are marked by teaching staff (and then moderated by the Awarding Body).
