Complimentary Colours• Complementary colours are two
colours that contrast with each other.
• They are always a primary and secondary colour.
• Two ways to remember complementary colours are:

1. That they are colours, which are found at the opposite side of the colour spectrum.
2. Each primary colour – RED, YELLOW, BLUE, has a complimentary, which appears opposite it in the colour spectrum. It is made by mixing the other two primary colours together.

When complementary colours are placed side by side the two colours fight for your eyes
attention. The colours become vibrant and intensive, the effect
is visually stimulating.
