This vote was taken at the AGM with votes received from 27 Members (22 present at the meeting and 5 proxy votes). The outcome of the vote was “That no Loyal Toast be honoured at any RC Morialta meetings and it be replaced by a Toast to the People of Australia only. “THE PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA”. This decision is to be implemented forthwith. As this was the Club’s last weekly meeting for 2016, other than the Christmas dinner to be held on Sunday 18 December 2016, I thanked all members for their participation and contribution to the effective running of The Rotary Club of Morialta during my first 6 months as President. At the conclusion of the AGM business, I spoke to the Members on a Club project to be undertaken during the Adelaide Festival for the period 29 February 2017 to 19 March 2017. Attached is a summary of that project which will be undertaken in association with other Clubs in Group 7 and will be managed by the Rotary Club of Morialta. This project promises to have a significant financial fund raising return to our Club. More details on the specifics and logistics of the event will be made available in the New Year. Adel Abdelhamid’s ticket was drawn in the weekly Jackpot Raffle but he did he did not draw out the required #5 marble to win the Jackpot. However he did win $2 on the “scratchy ticket” which he gave to the Club. Saturday morning 17 December 2016 saw another team from Morialta cooking a BBQ at the ARC’s Christmas party. A big thanks goes to Graeme and Vicki Packer, Judi and Geoff Brown, Tim Mee, Peter and Emiko Mayer and Dennis Heanes . Not only was this a further time of fellowship and camaraderie but also presented another visual Rotary presence to the Community. As mentioned above the Club’s last official function for the year was the Club’s Christmas dinner held on Sunday 18 December 2016. It was great night of fun, fellowship, entertainment and food. SANTOS TOUR DOWN UNDER We have receivced an email for an `expression of interest` operate a BBQ at the 2017 Tour Down Under. Interested service clubs will be placed in a hat – with one club chosen to operate a BBQ at the event. The event will be held on Friday 20 January 2017 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. The main change for this year is that Campbelltown will also be the finish for the Bupa Challenge - this will mean that an addition 6,000+ riders will be in the area. Riders will start finishing from 9.30am. Note: The Bupa riders will all be given food as part of their registration. Due to the early start of riders finishing, set up will be required the day before between 1.00pm - 4.00pm - Thursday 19 January 2017 as car movement on the day of the event will be very minimal. Security will be on site overnight. Morialta have summited our `expression of interest` to do this event as last year was a very successful day, a busy day with a net profit of $1060.00, so if we are successful in being awarded this event we will need more members to help on the day before to set-up, and also on the day. A LONG DAY for some. More info to follow. Graeme Packer

I apologise for being a little slow in acknowledging both your club and you for this wonderful support.

Much of the delay has been associated with my commitments elsewhere. However, I do not excuse

    myself.

Thankyou again for your combined support. The latest news is that we have reached full funding and are now in the process of arranging for the

project funds to be transferred to our Rotary associates in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. When it is confirmed funds are with the Afar Pastoralists Development Association[APDA] I will

forward to all supporters a concise up-date.
