Kindlynoticeyoumayneedabettermachinewithdedicatedgraphicsprocessingdevicestobeabletoplaygames

supportedbyCOGS.

SoftwareRequirementsCOGSsetupispublishedonthewebandyouneedaninternetconnectionandbrowsertoinstalltheapplication.ItishighlyrecommendedtouseInternetExplorertoinstallCOGS.COGSrunsonWindowsXP/Vistaandhasfollowingsoftwarerequirements:

1. InternetExplorer2. WindowsInstaller3.1v23. .NETFramework3.5SP1

OtherthantheInternetExplorer,theserequirementsareautomaticallydownloadedandinstalledatthetimeofCOGS

installation,ifnotfoundonyoursystem.

LoggingInTobeabletologintothesystem:

1. YoumustownanactiveWOGS(WateenOnlineGamingService)subscription2. YoumusthaveCOGSinstalledonyourmachine3. Youmustbeconnectedtotheinternet

Aftertheapplicationisinstalled,youcanlaunchiteitherfromtheStartmenuorfromtheDesktopshortcut.Whenever

COGSislaunched,itwillalwaysfirstaskyouforyoursubscriptionaccountscredentials.

GiveyoursubscriptionaccountscredentialsandpresstheLogInbuttontologintothesystem.

Theloginprogressandresultmessagesaredisplayedintheinformationbarbelowtheloginarea.

TroubleshootingFollowingerrormessagesaredisplayedincaseoffailedloginattempts:

NoactiveuserfoundmatchingthesuppliedcredentialsThismessageisdisplayedwheneitherthereisnosubscriptionaccountmatchingthesuppliedcredentialsorthe

subscriptionaccountassociatedwiththecredentialsisnolongeractive.Ifyoursubscriptionhasnotexpiredyetthenyou

needtocheckwhetheryouaregivingthecorrectcredentials.Ifyoursubscriptionhasexpiredthenyouneedtorenew

yoursubscriptiontobeabletologintothesystemagain.

Couldnotcommunicatewithserverproperly.Kindlycheckyourinternetconnection.Thismessageisdisplayedwhentheapplicationwasnotabletoconnecttotheserverduetointernetconnectivityissues

COGSalwaysusesInternetExplorersconnectionsettings.CheckyourinternetconnectionpropertiesofInternet

Explorerandconfirmthatyouareabletobrowseinternetusingit.

OtherErrorMessagesRestarttheapplicationandretryloggingin.Contacttheservicesupportiftheproblemrecurs.

PlayingaGameTobeabletoplayagame:

Youmusthavetheserverversionofthegameinstalledtobeabletosuccessfullyconnecttotheserverandplay.

SupportedGamesGamessupportedbythesystemaredisplayedinabaratthetopoftheapplication.

Youcanselectagamebyclickingonitsimage.Wheneveryouselectagame,itmovestothecenterofthebar.The

currentlyselectedgameisalwaysdisplayedatthecenterofthebar.

DedicatedServersWhenyouselectagame,theServerssectionisautomaticallyselectedandthededicatedserverscorrespondingtothat

gameare

displayed

under

it.

YoucanswitchtoothersectionsandcomebacktotheServerssectionusingthemenubarattheleftoftheapplication

anytimetoviewthededicatedserverscorrespondingtothecurrentlyselectedgame.

JoiningaServerTojoinaserveryoujustneedtodoubleclickonaserversrowinsidetheServerssection.Theapplicationitself

launchesthegameandstartsconnectingyoutotheserver.

PlayingaGamefortheFirstTimeWhenyoutrytojoinaserverofagameyoureplayingforthefirsttimeusingCOGS,youllbeaskedthegames

executablefileslocation.(IfyouhaventalreadysetitfromtheSettingssection)

Browsetothefolderwherethegameisinstalled,selecttheexecutablefileandthenpresstheOpenbutton.

TroubleshootingWhenyoujoinadedicatedserver,theapplicationfirstauthorizesyouonit.Iftheauthorizationissuccessful,thegameis

thenlaunchedandyoureconnectedtotheserver.Iftheauthorizationfails,amessageboxwitherrordescriptionis

displayed.

of

failed

authorization:

NoactiveuserfoundmatchingthesuppliedcredentialsThismessageisdisplayedifyoursubscriptionexpiredduringyourcurrentCOGSsession.Youneedtorenewyour

1. Internetconnectiongetsdisconnected/slowCheckyourinternetconnectionsettingsinInternetExplorer.ContactyourISP.

2. COGSisclosedYoumustnotcloseCOGSwhileplayingagame.Itisneededrunningtokeepyouauthorizedonthe

dedicatedgamingserver.

3. SubscriptionexpireswhileplayingYouneedtogetyoursubscriptionrenewed.

4. SinglesubscriptionaccountisusedfrommultiplelocationsOnesubscribercansuccessfullyplayagamefromonelocationatatime.Youcannotdistributeyour

credentialstoletothersplayatthesametimeyoureplaying.

5. MultiplesubscribersaresharingthesameinternetconnectionIftwoormoreusers(eachhavingasubscriptionofhisown)aresharingthesameinternetconnection

thentheymustuseadifferentgamingportfromeachother.SeetheGamingPortsectionunderthe

Settingssectionofthismanualtoknowhowtochangeit.

ChattingTobeabletochatwithotherWOGGERS:

1. YoumustbeloggedintoCOGS2. YoumustdecideandsetyourGamingNick

SettingGamingNickYoucansetyourgamingnickfromthechatbarattherightoftheapplication.

Youcannotchangeyourgamingnickonceitsset.Thisnickwillalsobeautomaticallysetinsidethegameswheneveryou

joinaserverusingCOGS.(Fewgamesmaynotsupportthisfeature)

Onceyousetyourgamingnick,yourchataccountisalsocreatedandyourchatmessengerstartssigningin.Afterwards,

wheneveryoulogintoCOGS,yourchatmessengerwillautomaticallysignin.

AddingFriendsYoucanaddchatfriendsbypressingtheAddFriendsbuttonatthebottomofthechatbar.

Alistofusersyoucanaddasfriendswillbedisplayedwithacheckboxnexttoeachone.
