Dear Parishioners, As I write this bulle n column, we are in the midst of a heatwave. Temperatures are rising and the summer is SIZZLING! Hope this finds you and your family to be safe & well as we all

manage the daily circumstances of our lives. Not sure if these topics that I am about to discuss are HOT, TOO HOT and just COLD, HARD facts, but they are issues to keep you informed about. Here goes…

The Bells are RINGING again!

We had a new bell system installed. The old system was outdated and considered not worth the expensive investment of repair. The Adagio II Carillon is a fully automa c, digital carillon system providing hymns, liturgical bell func ons, chime melody and hour strike. Judging from the number of posi ve comments I have received, I am glad people seem to be glad that the bells are back.

Catholic Charity Appeal is LIMPING along!

We are s ll about $30,000 away from reaching our parish goal of $165,000. We know that this has been a financially difficult year for many people. We are not sure what the future will bring. Our 39 diocesan social outreach and service agencies have been par cularly “hard-hit” as so many new clients have found themselves needing help because they lack the resources for basic necessi es. Your contribu ons do a GREAT deal. If you have already given, thank you for doing your part. If you have yet to give, please do so ASAP. We s ll have yet to hear from more than 100 people who gave last year, but not yet this year. Please help us avoid another mailing or phone call. Give to the Appeal today!

Parish Collec ons Drop With Church Closed Due To Covid

Small and large businesses have all been affected financially by the pandemic. Churches are no different. We all have bills to pay. In the fiscal year that just ended in June, the church income was down about $80,000 (July 2019-June 2020) over last year. This is a sobering reality. About $50,000 of the decline was from the period of mid-March thru June 30th. Obviously, the shutdown of churches and the current absence of many parishioners from weekend Mass (along with their dona ons in many cases) con nues to contribute to this. It is likely that a “COVID Catch-up/Makeup Collec on” will be conducted later this year to fill this gaping hole so we will be able to meet our budgetary expenses. Overall, we are down about 20% in income for the last fiscal year. This is not a sustainable pa ern. For those who have not been contribu ng REGULARLY to the budget, please make up whatever missed dona ons that you can. Your parish is open, safe and ready to serve you. God bless and thank you!

Father Forcier

THE RINGING OF THE BELLS Tradi onally church bells ring as a call to unite us in prayer. Our church bells ring at 12 Noon and 6PM. Take a moment to bow your head and thank God for all the blessings he has poured upon us. Prayers typically prayed are the Angelus and the Our

Father. Our church is also open 6AM to 4PM for personal prayer. Spend some me in God’s presence and rest in His loving care.
