The vibrant cultural per- formances by the junior batch and the three rounds of the much awaited talent hunt stole the show . The show was con- cluded with the crowning of Mr. Amity - Raghav Kad and Miss. Amity - Manasvi Ahuja. Siddharth Bagga was crowned Mr. Talented and Abhineet Srivastav and Prisha Singh were crowned as the best dressed seniors! The students expressed their gratitude to their mentor- Founder Chair person Dr. Ms Amita Chauhan for their unending in- spiration to each and every Amitian to be the best.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS

A Tribute To Motherhood

Mother’s role is foremost in shaping the growth,

personality and upbringing of a child and the day

that celebrates the essence of a mother is

Mother’s Day. To make their mothers feel spe-

cial, young Amitians of class I celebrated

MOTHER’S DAY in school premises on 12 May.

Little Amitians of class I welcomed their mothers

by singing a poem and by dancing on medley of

songs, followed by exciting and fun filled games

– MUSICAL CHAIR and BINGO for mothers. All

mothers were excited and showed exemplary

enthusiasm. This moment became memorable

when mothers were crowned with beautiful tiaras

by their children who expressed their gratitude to

their mothers for their unconditional love . After

tapping their feet with kids on different songs,

mothers shared their best and sweetest memo-

ries of this bond.

AN ODE TO THE GANGA - Presentation by Class VI

“The Ganga,especially,is the river of India, beloved of her people, round which are intertwined her memo-ries,herhopes and fears, her songs of triumph, her victories and her defeats.She has been a symbol of In-dia’s age long culture and civilization,ever changing,ever flowing and yet ever the same Ganga.”

Depicting the rich heritage of our country, on 5th May class VI students came forward with an informative presen-tation ‘Tubhyam Namami Gange,as a glorious tribute to river Ganga.

The event started with the lamp lighting along with the chanting of gayatri mantra. Principal Ms. Arti Chopra ad-

dressed the gathering and welcomed parents in the show. Through the presentation students of class VI exhibited

the mythological, historical, economical and social importance of the national river of India, the Ganga. Through the

presentation of a skit , they raised the important issue of the water pollution and conveyed the message to keep

the Ganga clean.

CHITRANKAN-2017

Chitrankan- 2017 proved to be a wonderful opportunity for our young artistes to polish their artistic expressions and unveil the bright hues of their imagination. Chitrankan-the Festival of Colours, witnessed the par-ticipation of 23 schools from Delhi and NCR. All the nine competitions were judged by eminent artists, Ms. Rekha Bajpae and Mr.Pankaj Kumar Sahu . The overall championship was won by Amity Interna-tional School sector 46, being the host school the championship was transferred to next highest scorer, Amity International School,Gurgaon,Sector-43.The result is as follows:

Instilling Leadership Skills On 12 May 2017, class VIII presented YOUTH

PARLIAMENT – THE VOICE OF YOUNG IN-

DIANS. Under the guidance of honourable Princi-

pal Ms.Arti Chopra, the ardent students in union

with the team of proficient teachers were able to

put up impressive show for the audience. Students

personated as the future parliamentarians very

emphatically and portrayed mock parliament . A

nukkad natak based on our heritage with a theme

of conservation of our holy rivers was also pre-

sented by the students. It was a remarkable show that has set an example for all the future educated

bureaucrats to change the face of politics.

Orientation Programme for Parent of class IX-X

Reaffirming the commitment of providing quality education, an orienta-

tion programme for the parents of classes IX and X was organised in

the school premises on Saturday, 06th May 2017. The programme

commenced with the lighting of the lamp accompanied by chanting of

the 'Gayatri Mantra'. This was followed by an enthralling Kathak per-

formance.

The purpose of this programme was to apprise the parents about the

holistic education imparted in the school, re-introduction of class

10 board examination and to impart information regarding the new

form of assessment pattern as per the CBSE guidelines.

The Principal, Ms. Arti Chopra commenced the session with a powerful and insightful pres-

entation, urging the students of class X to select streams according to aptitude as well as

academic strength. She urged parents and teachers to focus on the need to tread along with

a positive attitude and develop strong personality traits of children. The objective was also to

orient the parents with insight in the various subject combinations offered by the school and

the career prospects. The Principal also apprised the parents about various school clubs like

Model United Nations, Interact club, theatre and various Work and Art experience clubs

which are an integral part of the school program. The achievements of students at national

and international level were also shared with the parents and the various school initiatives

highlighted.

Earth Week Celebrations

Our Earth Ambassadors on Their Mission

In an effort to sensitize the students towards saving our planet Earth ,children of Amity International School,sector-46,Gurgaon from classes IX and X conducted earth week activities on the theme ‘Science and Technology in the service of mankind’. The activities carried forward the vision of our honorable chairperson Dr (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan , who believes that learning shouldn’t be just theo-retical but should be based on experimenting and practical activities. This event not only created a spirit of team work amongst the students but also helped them get closer to nature, made them understand the importance of other creatures on the Earth , motivated them to conserve the environment and love mother Earth. The students showcased exemplary enthusiasm by preparing mod-els ,charts and PPTs, project files, street plays and doing research. They were also involved in conducting quizzes and debate on the theme.. The students showcased their work on PRERNA DIVAS held on 4th May,

2017.

Orientation Programme for Parents of Class XI

Partnership of the Parents and School for Positive Development of the students An Orientation Programme was conducted for the parents of class XI on 6th May with the objective of familiarizing the parents of the school curriculum, , teaching programmes undertaken and co- curricular activities organized at the senior level . The programme began in a ceremonial way with the lighting of lamp by Principal Ms. Arti Chopra along with the parents . The chanting of Gayatri Mantra added a touch of serenity . It was followed by classical dance performance by Arti Ven-ketesan. The most important highlight of this occasion was informative talk by Principal Arti Chopra on Emerging Amitians , which showcased the vision and mission of our mentors – founder and Chairperson of the Amity Group. Through this presen-tation she also brought to light some of the important programmes initiated by Amity like Youth Power, Global Times , MUNs, Foreign exchange programme etc.to provide the required exposure to the students to learn and grow .Ms. Mani-sha Khanna , co-ordinator for XI & XII , updated the parents about curriculum , exam pattern , career counseling and school rules and regulations . Ms. Seema Kaushik , Class Rep , talked about the usage of Amitranet , an online school por-tal with various links and sources for the access of the parents. This event proved a good experience for the parents in getting acquainted with the school system.

Our Students Leave a Mark in Yuva Vichar Manch

Yuva Vichar Manch is a platform for young upcoming leaders to share their strong voices and opinions on some of the pertinent issues, Our students took part in the 8th edition of the prestigious Yuva Vichar Manch hosted by Amity University campus on 9th and 11th May 2017. All the nine branches of Amity International Schools participated with a great enthusiasm. In this two- day programme ,the various topics of discussion at the session were Technology Inputs will Solve the Problem of Sanitation, Desalination can solve water problem, Innovation is need based or Dream based, Demoneti-zation is good for Economy Post Harvest burning is solution to stubble man-agement, Gender Equality should be Reservation based or Performance based. The panel of Judges included eminent personalities from different fields This spectacular show was filled with multiple leadership opportunities and a group of like minded passionate youth. It not only expanded knowledge and understanding of what goes in the parliament but also taught the youth parliamentary etiquette, advocacy and parliamentary procedure.. Our students walked away with Rolling Trophy and also bagged 4 Teach-

ers Awards, 9 Individual awards like Best Informed Parliamentarian, Best

Humorous Parliamentarian, Well informed Parliamentarian to name few.

Prerna Divas -2017

Prerna Divas was held on 4th May , commemorating the birthday of Chairperson Ma’am , Dr. (Ms) Amita Chauhan, an unending inspiration of all Amitians. This much awaited day witnessed unusual fervor in the school with the presence of Chairperson ma’am. The school band presented synchronized tune to accord a warm welcome to Ma’am. Grade II students stole the show when stepped forward and expressed their emotions by crowning Ma’am. The flow of birthday greetings was exhibited in the artistic and huge card collages , hanging in the C block. Projects related to the Earth Day were put up in the skating hall and the students explained the purpose of their work. The students of Art Department conveyed their warm feelings by exhibiting the images and portraits of Chair Person ma’am in various expressions and postures, drawn by the students. The cultural programme included Welcome Song and Navrasa Dance Performance . Principal Arti chopra wel-comed Ma’am , conveyed her heartfelt birthday wishes and expressed her thanks for her continuous support and guidance .While addressing the students, Chair person ma’am motivated the students to be positive in life and never to forget values given by their parents and school.

YRONS 2017

“ I can never stand still , I must explore and experi-ment .” Walt Disney

Amity has always believed in giving adequate exposure to children to identify their talents and to unleash their potential . YRONS 2017 was an opportunity for our students with scientific acumen to ex-plore .Our team , consisting of Anshul Jena XI, Pranjal Kapur XII S and Shubhransh Mishra XII S , went to Norway to present a re-search project on the topic of Battery Mould . The aim of our project was to utilise the wasted bread to produce batteries. So students not only researched on the topic but they visited restaurants and hotels to check the wasted bread.-During their stay in Norway from 22nd April to 28th April, they visited different places like power sta-tions ,science centre in Arnedal, learnt Norwegian culture and were thrilled to do trekking and zip lining . They also won the quiz on Norway culture beating 20 teams includ-ing the team of teachers. They presented folk dance of Punjab , choreographed by them ,

depicting the rich cultural heritage of India. All the students of this

team expressed their sincere gratitude to the school principal for

this great learning experience .

Programme, USA -2017

In order to inculcate leadership skills among the students and to provide them with the wider exposure , the AMITY Group organized 1st Global AMBASSADORS PROGRAMME in the USA. Palak Yadav of class XI participated in this conference as delegate of Ecuador in Security Council. She took part in the competition at Wharton High School . In this 10 day educational trip the students visited the UN Headquarters in New York , renowned universi-ties like Columbia University and New York University , American Museum, the Liberty Bell, the Rocketfeller etc. Palak Yadav made us proude by winning Honourable Mention at the GCIMUN-2017.

The Chronicler— AIS 46 twitters... ODYSSEY OF THE MIND (25th EUROFEST 2017) at ZUBRENOK, BELARUS

Seven students from our school along with the teacher incharge, Ms. San geeta Dhankar took part in ODM from 21st April to 28th April at Zubrenox. The opening ceremony got the students from all countries together as one team. In this event various activities like NCC, Debating , group activities proved to be a good exercise to sharpen their analytical skills, leadership qualities along with decision making. It was a fabulous opportunity to widen their mental hori-zons. Our students got first position in division II and III. Following students were a part of ODM: Satwik Pattnaik ,Rakhshit Bhardwaj ,Hreshitta ,Suyash Bansal, Hriday Gurnani, Aridaman Singh Abhigyan Singh Yadav All the team members expressed their thanks to Chairperson Dr. (Ms) Amita Chauhan for this wonderful global experience.
