Miss India-2015 Aditi Arya Felicitated at Amity International School, Sector-46, Gurgaon

Miss India-2015 Aditi Arya felicitated at Amity International School, sector-46,Gurgaon. Aditi is an alumni of AIS-46 IN YEAR 2010-2011.Felicitating Aditi Arya Dr (Mrs)Amita Chauhan congratulated her for her success and wished her all the best for world beauty contest.Aditi was welcomed by the band students and as she entered she did plant sapling giving her alma mater a token of love. At the school entrance she was welcomed by Principal ma’am and Council members, school formally welcomed her in a traditional way with lighting of a lamp. Along with Princi-pal Arti Chopra she entered the MP Hall of school where rock band performance and cultural dance was organized for her. Aditi interacted with the students of GT Times and during her interview she said that she has got this exposure due to AIS-46 she shared her success story with the students. At the end Aditi was felicitated with Bouquet, cita-tion and painting by Hon’ble Chairperson ma’am Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan.

Beginning of New Session -2015-16

March 18th, 2015 after the long holiday and results students were back to school with new horizons and hope for

their new academic session 2015-16, Day started with morning assembly where the students were welcomed by

teachers and were directed to their new classes, they were also introduced to the new staff members who joined the

session 2015-16.

After assembly students moved to their respective classrooms and then there was hawan organized for classes 2 to 12

so that on the very first day of the school students can get the blessings of almighty and get positivity throughout the

year, in the new session silence time after recess has also been introduced by school management where in the stu-

dents will remain silence for two minutes after break time.

ACC Camp Amity Cadet Corps of AIS G 46,under the aegis of ATC52, attended a six day camp at Amity University, Gurgaon, wherein they enjoyed para sailing, rock climbing,apart from regular march past and drills. A culmination of the camp into KASAM PARADE was a rare showcase of their endurance, dedication and adventurous spirit!!

YRONS Amity team comprising of two students (Simran Tuteja and Sanya Yadav) from AIS-46 went to Hungary for sci-ence conference, YRoNS (Young Researchers of Natural Science). The students gave presentation on the theme lifelong health- life wide health- science for a healthy life. The students shared the importance of Ayurveda and yoga for a healthy life. Presentations by other countries included topics like Topinambur- a healthy way to lose weight, strong deodorants contain aluminium which kills the unpleasant odor, etc.

Orientation programme for parents was held at Amity International School, Sector 46-Gurgaon on 21st March 2015 for the new academic year (2015-2016). The programme was spread over two sessions. The first session was for parents of grade 5 students and the second session was for parents of grade 6 students. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, followed by mesmerizing singing per-

formance by class 6th choir group. Parents also applauded the enriching presentation by the Principal, Ms. Arti Chopra on the topic, Art of Parenting. Coordinator for classes 5 and 6, Ms. Ranjana apprised the audience on the expectations and processes to be followed through the year including navigation procedures while ac-cessing Amity’s intranet. Class representatives of 5th and 6th grades, Ms. Harjeet and Ms. Vibha, respectively presented a brief agenda on examinations. School counsellors and Special Educators addressed the gathering and shared information related to Learning Enhancement Centre and Adolescence.

Class I for the session 2015-16 was conducted on March 31, 2015 at 09:30 a.m. in the Multi

Purpose Hall at AIS-46.The programme was designed to support child in making a smooth

transition to school. To mark the new beginning the event was started at an auspicious note

with the lighting of the lamp accompanied with the shloka chanting by the students of class

IV. It was followed by „Sur Tarang‟ another musical instrumental presentation. The Princi-

pal Mrs Arti Chopra welcomed new parents and acquainted them with the vision and the

mission of the Amity School. She also shared with them the teaching methodologies and

facilities provide to theChildren. Students of class III, & IV presented wonderful and versa-

tile MI presentation including dance, yoga, taekwondo, skating ,story telling etc.

One of the main highlight of the event was a presentation “Starting school on the Right

Note”- by Dr. Kanika K Ahuja a well known Psychologist on Parenting and how par-

ents can help in smooth transition of a child from the homely environment to the school life.

The academic coordinator Ms. Sumity Kapoor introduced her team of teachers to the new

parents and also shared the assessment, homework patterns with parents.

New Parent’s Orientation Program-2015-16 The Orientation Program for new parents and students was held on Thursday, 19th March and saw various staff members welcoming the parents and students. With around 150 new entrants this year,the programme commenced with the lighting of lamp followed by the peaceful rendi-tion of shlokas. Students welcomed the parents with their melodious welcome song School Principal Ms. Arti Chopra welcomed the parents and she apprised them on the infra-structure and various activities taking place in the school. She spoke about Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan and worthy chairperson of Amity Schools Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan, who is a role model for all to emulate. Parents also interacted with the block coordinators which were especially designed to sort their queries.

March,2015 at AIS-46.The Principal Ms. Arti Chopra welcomed all the teachers and the

new joiners in the new session. She inspired the entire faculty mem-

bers to excel in their respective areas and explained them the fish

philosophy through a ppt presentation.

Amitians triumph once again in TOI collaborated "Think and Learn Chal-lenge" won by Shryans Goyal, a 10th grader!

NATIONAL RANKING ARCHERY TOURNAMENT

National Ranking Archery Tournament stage-II for the junior category was held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi from 23rd to 29th March 2015. Top 12 Archers from all over India participated in this tournament. Priyanka Thakran of Class XII from AIS-46, Gurgaon acquired the second position in the Recurve Round defeating 4 international players and bagged silver medal. Priyanka is selected for Junior World Archery Championship Trial to be held from 7th to 9th April 2015. Three best Boys & Girls from each category will be selected in this trial to participate in the Junior World Cup to be held at Yankton – USA in June 2015 to compete with the best Archers of the World. Priyanka played the National Ranking Archery Tournament stage- I in February 2015 held at Hyderabad and

scored 5th position thus missing the selection for Asia Cup just by 1 point only. She had been attending the India Camp under the Korean Coach Mr. Lim and 5 Indian Coaches. She also won Bronze Medal in both Junior Na-tionals and School Nationals held at Jamshedpur and Nasik respectively in December 2014. She has been practicing Archery since VIth standard under the guidance of her school coach Mr. Kapil Kaushik. Two more Girls from AIS-46, Gurgaon, Anu Thakran of Class X and Shakshi Sharma of Class XII bagged bronze medals in the Junior Nationals & School Nationals held at Jamshedpur and Nasik respectively in the month of De-cember.

Delhi Darshan Visit…… We at Amityot only believe in academics but we also ensure thatout students should know their culture

deeply, keeping that in mind Delhi Darshan was planned for the classes of VIII where they explored the fa-mous monumemts of Delhi and got to know about the history of the places. Students visited science museum,

jantar mantar and many such places. They had wonderful learning Experience with the blend of learning.

Space club activities………. Destination moon and Planet watch’ - Space Worksop were conducted in the school during evening 23rd and 27th March 15 for students of class IV and V respectively. Students as well as parents were thrilled to locate

and watch Venus, Jupiter with its 3moons, Ursa major and many other heavenly bodies in the sky with the help of Educators.
