PRESS RELEASE 25 June 2015 The BRIT School launches Community Programme and go live on BRIT FM Online, 2 nd -10 th July 2015. This summer, The BRIT School are working with the local community on a range of activities supported by Croydon in Need Relief. These include a free cinema screening for local residents, streaming live radio shows and premiering a new Musical ‘The Revelling’ which will be performed for local school children and the wider public who want to spot the next Jessie J. Certitude, a charity which provides support for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs are giving a £500 prize to a student who has made a positive contribution to their local community. The winner will be announced on 9 th July before the performance of The Revelling. Outreach Manager Andrea Davis said: “It is our mission to remove barriers to participation in high quality arts provision; whether it be attending a live show or participating in a creative project. This year we have worked with over 21 partners including Croydon Day Opportunities, Certitude, St Giles and The Crescent Primary School plus many more. Through our Outreach Programme, we will teach lifelong skills including team building, time management, rehearsal skills, socialisation and social cohesion through sharing of culture and heritage. This will increase confidence and self- esteem through the experience of making and performing creative work”. The BRIT School launches Community Programme and go live on BRIT FM Online, 2nd-10th July 2015.

The BRIT School radio station offers its listeners a unique mix of speech and music, delivered by a diverse range of voices and former presenters have been alumni Ricky Haywood-Williams (Kiss FM), Gemma Cairney (Radio 1) and world selling artists Jordan Stephens from the Rizzle Kicks and Katie Melua and our most recent BBC 1Xtra debutant and BRIT graduate Jamz Supernova.

The station will broadcast live online at www.britrm.org.uk from 2nd 10th July, with a longer webcast of highlights running over the summer break.
