The Board of Trustees of State College of Arkansas convened inregular meeting on Friday, April 27, 1973, at ten o'clock in the morningon the campus in Conway, Arkansas, with the following officers and mem-bers of the Board present, to-wit;

and with the following member of the Board absent, to-wit:

constituting a quorum of said Board, at which meeting the following busi-ness was transacted, tdf-wit:
Upon motion made by Mr. Norman and seconded by Mr. Polk theminutes of the last meeting of the Board of Trustees were approved byunanimous vote.
Motion was made by Mr. Polk that the Board go into executivesession to consider personnel. A second to this motion was made byMrs. Hammans and passed by unanimous vote.
The following resignations and retirements as recommended byPresident Snow were approved upon motion made by Dr. Johnson, secondedby Mr. Norman and passed by unanimous vote:

Mr. Polk made a. motion that the present contract of President Silas D.Snow be extended for a period of one year thereby making it a three-year con-tract beginning July 1, 1973. Salary for the month of July, 1973, and for asmany months thereafter during the biennium ending June 30, 1975, as funds areavailable, will be $2, 333. 33. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1975, andfor as many months thereafter ending June 30, 1976, the salary will be the figureas established in the State College of Arkansas 1975-77 biennial AppropriationAct. A second to this motion was made by Mr. Norman and passed by the follow-ing vote;
AYES: Ahlf, Norman, Polk, Hammans, Dr. Johnson
NOES: Mr. Johnson.
Motion was made by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Polk and passedby unanimous vote that open meeting be declared.
In open meeting resignations and retirements as recommended byPresident Snow were approved upon motion made by Dr. Johnson, seconded byMr. Norman and passed by unanimous vote.
In open meeting appointments as recommended by President Snow wereapproved upon motion made by Mr. Norman, seconded by Dr. Johnson and passedby unanimous vote.

Dr. Johnson made a motion authorizing President Snow to make staffappointments for the summer session, 1973, for the regular session, 1973-74,to be formally acted upon at subsequent meetings of the Board. A second to thismotion was made by Mrs. Hammans and passed by unanimous vote.
Motion was made by Dr. Johnson that the necessary steps be initiatedin seeking university status. A second to this motion was made by Mr. Johnsonand passed by unanimous vote.
Mr. Norman made a motion that effective the first summer term, 1973,the college cafeterias eliminate the serving of Sunday night suppers. A secondto this motion was made by Mrs. Hammans and passed by unanimous vote.
A motion was made by Mr. Polk, seconded by Mr. Johnson and passedby unanimous vote that State College of Arkansas expand its off-campus programs(not to include correspondence study) to offer courses for which residence creditat both the graduate and undergraduate level is awarded provided that all coursesoffered are approved by the normal administrative channels of the college.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meetingwas adjourned. A
