The university now uses Office 2007 Office 2003 is still available for use If you don’t know what version you are

going to…save it as a compatible legacy version!

This goes for other documents too, particularly Word.

The most simple aspect of PowerPoint.

Text boxes may be manipulated in different

ways. This can make your presentation more interesting…

Bear your audience in mind.

Clip art – Lots to chose from From your file – Simply insert from your

picture folder. From the web – Copy and paste directly

from the internet…be aware of copyright issues.

Look to the ‘Design’ tab to change the colour scheme / font and layout of your presentation

This can be changed across the whole presentation easily

Or just on one slide…

Add dynamic to your presentation. Can be a little fiddly, give yourself time to

learn how to do it successfully.

Don’t over do it…remember your audience!

Pictures can be animated too

Audio clips are found in with the clip art. These can be fun to emphasise your text.

If you have MP3’s to embed, use the ‘insert media’ option and choose the audio section to browse to the file.

If you chose your own music, you must save it ‘embedded’ to ensure it plays on other computers. If this is confusing then it’s probably best to avoid this…or dedicate some time to learning how to do this.

Adding video from a file you have on your computer is very similar to adding audio.

To embed video from the likes of Youtube, refer to this tutorial.
