ADORATION: Every Thursday, 9:00AM - 5:45PM
Adoration Is Reserved For God Alone. We Do Not Adore The Angels, The Saints or Even The Blessed Mother. No Other Is Worthy Of Adoration But The Three Persons Of The Trinity nor Do We Give This Spe-cial Reverence To Anyone Else At Any Time or Any Place. In Luke 4:7-8, When The Devil Tells Jesus That If He Would Prostrate Himself Before Him, All The Earthly Kingdoms Would Be His. Jesus Responds Say-ing, "Scripture Has It, "You Shall Do Homage To The Lord Your God, Him Alone Shall You Adore."'
Each Of The Three Persons Of The Godhead Is Distinct From One Another. Since Adoration Involves A Relationship Between A Divine Person and A Human Person, Our Focus During Adoration Should Be On A Particular Person Of The Trinity, All The While Remembering That Each Person Of The Trinity Possesses The Same Divine Essence. Thus, The Father Is Wholly In The Son and Wholly In The Holy Spirit; The Son Is Wholly In The Father and Wholly In The Holy Spirit; and The Holy Spirit Is Wholly In The Father and In The Son.

”The Way” - El Camino de Santiago. Starting on May 18th, our parishioner Oscar Lombardi will attempt to complete the pilgrimage to the Holy City of Santiago de Compostela for a second time. This time he will walk the northern route which goes along the northern coast of Spain for 300 miles and then turns towards the mountains and Santiago for the last 200 miles. Oscar will be keeping a blog of his daily experiences which you are welcome to check. The blog’s address is Ultreyaoscar.blogspot.com. “Buen Camino!” Children’s Liturgy of the Word
has ceased for the summer! We thank our Team of ladies who faithfully served us this past year at the 9:00am Mass. Sue Grover, Mary Smith, Elena Kemp, Vian Davis & Grace Romero! As we begin making plans for next year’s Children’s Liturgy of the Word, we are looking for a few Dads and Moms to join our team. You’ll be fully trained and you’ll fall more in love with the Word of God. We are looking at expanding to the 11:00am Mass too! If you feel the tug on your heart to help our little ones understand the Sunday readings better (and help their parents not become distracted during the Liturgy of the Word), we’d love to have you! Due to the recent vandalism issue where one of church doors with stain glass was broken, we are taking steps to lock the rear doors to the church Monday - Friday following the 8:00 am mass. These doors will still be available for exit. Parish-ioners are encouraged to use the front doors for entry and exit during the weekdays.
A MISSION FROM THE MOUNTAIN Matthew is the only one of the evangelists who does not speak explicitly of or recount the departure of Jesus from his followers. Mark and Luke recount the Ascension, each in his own way; and John consistently has Jesus speak of the necessity of his departure so the Paraclete might come. Matthew situates his final scene for Jesus on top of a mountain in Galilee (not outside Jerusalem, as Luke does). This is the region where his mission origi-nated, and throughout his Gospel the mountaintop has been the place for him to teach his followers. (We are familiar with the “Sermon on the Mount” from Matthew.) And here Jesus re-echoes those Ascension themes we hear from the other evangelists: It is Jesus himself, risen and glorified, charged with power from the Father, who sends us out; it is Jesus himself who gives us our mission to baptize, heal, teach, and proclaim the Good News of salvation; it is Jesus himself who will be with us al-ways, as we continue to be his presence alive in the world. La Adoración se reserva sólo para Dios. Nosotros no adoran a los ángeles, los santos o incluso La Santísi-ma Madre. No otro es digno de adoración pero las tres Personas de la Trinidad, ni le damos esta reverencia especial a cualquier persona en cualquier momento o en cualquier lugar. En Lucas 4:7-8, Cuando el diablo le dice a Jesús si quisiera postrarse ante Él, todos los reinos terrenales serían suyos. Jesús responde di-ciendo: "La Escritura dice," has de hacer homenaje al Señor Dios, él será el único a quien adoran.”
Cada una de las tres Personas de la Divinidad es distinta. Desde adoración implica una relación entre una persona divi-na y una persona humana, nuestro enfoque durante la adoración debe estar en una determinada persona de la Trini-dad, todo el tiempo recordando que cada persona de la Trinidad posee la esencia divina. Por lo tanto, el Padre está to-do en el Hijo, y todo en el Espíritu Santo; El Hijo está todo en el Padre y todo en el Espíritu Santo; y el Espíritu Santo está todo en el Padre y en el Hijo.

El Camino de Santiago – “The Way”. Comen-zando el 18 de mayo, nuestro feligrés Oscar Lombardi va a tratar de completar este peregri-naje hacia la Ciudad Santa de Santiago de Compostela por la segunda vez. Esta vez el trayecto va a ser la ruta norte que va cerca de la costa norte de España por 300 millas, y sigue hacia las montañas y Santiago por las últimas 200 millas. MISIÓN DESDE LA MONTAÑA
Mateo es el único de los evangelistas que no habla explícitamente de la partida de Jesús de entre sus seguidores. Marcos y Lucas recuentan la Ascensión, cada uno a su manera; y Juan constantemente pone en boca de Jesús las palabras sobre la nece-sidad de que él parta para que el Paráclito regrese. Mateo sitúa la escena final de Jesús en la tierra en la cima de una colina en Galilea (no en las afueras de Jerusalén como lo hace Lucas). Esta es la región donde su misión se originó y en todo su Evan-gelio la cima de la montaña ha sido el lugar desde donde Jesús enseña a sus segui-dores. (Estamos familiarizados con el “Sermón de la Montaña” de san Mateo.) Y aquí Jesús hace eco a los temas de la Ascensión que escuchamos de los otros evangelistas: Es ese Jesús, resucitado y glorificado, lleno del poder que le viene del Padre quien nos envía; es el mismo Jesús quien nos da la misión de bautizar, sanar, enseñar y proclamar la Buena Nueva de la salvación; es el mismo Jesús quien estará siem-pre con nosotros si continuamos siendo su presencia viva en el mundo.
