7.3: Two Best Practices
Best Practices-
1. Promotion of girl student’s participation:
The way to provide women participation is to allocate responsibilities to them that
normally belong to men. When women have economic empowerment, it is a way
for others to see them as equal members of society. Through this, they achieve
more self-respect and confidence by their contributions to their communities.
Simply including women as a part of a community can have sweeping positive
effects. The initiative is taken by our worthy principal to promote the women in the
society. The girl students are motivated and guided to take participate participation
in various college activities. To maintain the status of equality in men and women,
the nominations for gender champions from the college are taken. The nodal
officers Pr. Rajesh kumar and Pr. Ruchika Jain observe the activities of various
boys and girls in the college and by evaluating their performance. The two Gender
Champions one boy and one girl are selected in this session. Girl students are
encouraged to participate in a Youth Leadership Camp” & “Youth Welfare
Training Camps”. During this session, the college students are divided into four
Houses. The students of houses are encouraged to do various activities during the
Saturday of the week. On 4th march, the cricket competition among the houses is
organized. In each team, the minimum three girl students are compulsory.
2. Practices to bring social change-
Social change may include changes in nature, social responsibilities, social
behaviors, or social relations among the students. Change comes from two sources.
One source is random or unique factors such as climate, weather, or the presence
of specific groups of people. Another source is systematic factors inoculate among
the students by involving the various activities of the society. For example,
successful development has the same general requirements, such as a stable and
flexible government, enough free and available resources, and a diverse social
organization of society. On the whole, social change is usually a combination of
systematic factors along with some random or unique factors. The college actively
organizes various social awareness rallies to promote a transformation of thoughts
and living;
The college organized-
• SwachhtaAbhiyan :- at village Dadheri on ‘5th January,2017’ during NSS
camp oraganised in the college campus
• Social Awareness Rally:- at village Dadheri and nearby surrounding areas
covering 2 km of distance. The aim of the rally to sanitize. The village
people against the social evils inherent in the society.
• Voter Awareness Rally :- A ‘Voter Awareness Rally’ was organized on
31-Jan-2017 the rally was taken on the streets of Mandi Gobindgarh and
nearly surrounding areas. The main aim of the rally was to create awareness
amongst the people regarding importance of ‘suffrage’
7.4 Contribution to environment awareness
Various activities and programmes are organized by institutions to awareness the
students about environment during the session 2016-2017. Alumni association has
celebrated environment day on 5th July, 2016 in our collage with the help of
environment club of college. They have planted more than 50 plants in college. On
13th august, with the collaboration at loins club Mandi Gobindgarh, the awareness
among the students is raised about environment. They have planted various plants
in the college. During these days, various lectures are conducted for the students so
that need of protection of environment can be inculcated among the students. To
save the environment and make it free from various pollutants, the students are
inspired to plant more trees in their houses and surroundings. The students have
taken pledge to save the environment. During 7 days NSS camp, a rally was
organized in village Dadheri on 5/1/2017 to aware the people about environment
pollutants and need of protection of environment. They are advised to not pollute
their villages with cow dung, garbage etc. They are advised to preserve the natural
resources in the village for welfare of the environment. On the 6th January 2017,
the students of GPC made efforts to clean the roads of village Dadheri and
Gurudwara sahib of village.
Environment awareness-
