THE ADDAMS FAMILYThis Wiki Project is an assessment of the various

family dynamics and interpersonal relationships

that exist among the nuclear members of the

Addams family, specifically: Master Gomez

Addams, Morticia Addams, Wednesday Addams,

and Pugsley Addams. The method of analysis

used to explore these complex family dynamics is

the EcoMap, which allows the information to be

presented in a visually effective manner.

Wednesday Friday Addams• Solemn, secretive, imaginative 12 year old daughter

of Gomez and Morticia Addams• Prim in dress and always has her hair in long dark

braids• Extreme rivalry with brother Pugsley and loves the

Pugsley Uno Addams• Portly 9 years old son of Gomez and Morticia Addams• Troublemaker, inventive, and agile.• Enjoyed extreme rivalry with sister Wednesday and

would often threaten to poison her• Consistantly wearing a striped t-shirt and black shorts• Favorite possession is a tiger head clock• He sometimes almost acts normal which worries the

rest of his family

• Contribution to the family: Design a wardrobe for the family consistent with their distinctive gothic style• Arrange fittings with family members• Construct clothing

My career as a social worker could impact the Addams family in the following ways:

•Provide family counseling, either individually or as a group. Counseling could help the members of the family to better understand and respect one another.

•Provide the family with various resources and social services that could help identify and remedy complicated family dynamics. A few of these resources include: State-funded parenting classes and state-funded after-school programs

•Help the family to identify and respect the similarities and differences among them, and then help them use these commonalities to find a family activity in which all members can participate and enjoy. This will facilitate stronger family bonds.

• Contribution to the family: I would like to implement a healthy lifestyle plan specialized for each member of the family to ensure a long and happy life.

• Each plan would consist of a balanced diet, a form of physical exercise, a healthy way to deal with stress, mental and emotional problems.

• Within the family, I would also examine the relationships between the individuals making sure there are no negative aspects creating distress to maintain a strong family bond.

• Contribution to the Addams family: I would assess the needs and wants of the family, act as a personal shopper/stylist and provide a product that fits their lifestyle.

•I would find a a tailor for Gomez that creates quality double-breasted striped suits.

•Morticia would be outfitted with signature black dresses from designers that produce garments that fit her macabre style and also allow her to dance at any moment.

•Vertical stripes aren’t flattering on all body types and because Pugsley is pudgy he needs to change from his wide striped t-shirt to a solid, small patterned t-shirt or even a graphic t.

•Wednesday is almost a teenager and needs a change in wardrobe that makes her feel like a confident young adult.
