Parish NewsSummer Hours - Starting Sunday, July 7thOur summer hours will be in effect on July 7th. Orthros 8:30 a.m., Divine Liturgy: 9:30 a.m. Please remember, summer is not a time to take vacation away from God. Please try to attend church regularly.

Greekfest Wish List – Penny Sale Raffle (Gift items needed!) New, unused items are needed to be donated for the Penny Sale table. Gift item ideas include: • Gift certificates/gift cards from local restaurants/ stores/businesses • Kitchen appliances (i.e. toasters, toaster ovens, grills, coffee makers, mixers, blenders, etc.) • Kids’ toys (electronic games, bicycles, etc.) • Fragrant candle gift sets, cosmetic gift sets, etc. • Monetary donations toward the purchase of other gift items are also greatly accepted. Icon flowers – August 1st – 15thHelp celebrate the Lenten Period of August 1 – August 15 and the Feastday of the Theotokos by donating icon flowers. Please call the church office between 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. weekdays at 623-2045 or speak with any member of the Philoptochos Board.

BingoOur church bingo operation is looking for a new Bingo Treasurer. The position will only require a few hours of your time per month. If you are interested in helping our parish with this important fundraising group, please contact Costa Georgopoulos or Teddy Rokas at the church office 623-2045.

Roof FundraiserLiving in New England, the weather is not kind to buildings and our Church is no exception. Our current roof has serious issues that are allowing water into the church. The Parish Council recognized this over a year ago and has spent the time to investigate the options of repairing the existing roof or replacing it. In that regard we have established a “Roof Fundraising” campaign to raise $50,000. Our goal is to raise these funds over the next two months so the work can be finished during the early summer before our Festival in August. Your generous donation will help cover the cost of replacing the roof in order to preserve our church. With the support of our parishioners, as well as the benevolence of community businesses and individuals we have raised so far over $25,000.00! We would like to thank you for your unlimited love and support that you have shown for our church, and would kindly ask for your support so that we can overcome this obstacle. 75th Anniversary Book - UpdateWe apologize for the delay in completing the 75th Anniversary Book. We are still in the process of gathering all the necessary information. We would appreciate your assistance in providing photos and/or other information for the years 1986-2000 in order to include in the book. Thank you for your support and patience.

Youth NewsAll the advisors and teachers of the Youth Ministry hope you are having a wonderful summer while we are planning a fun-filled year ahead with lots of activities and events.

WE NEED YOU….CALLING ALL YOUTH!!!!Greekfest is fast approaching and we need volunteers to help at the Youth table. As always, we will have tons of crafts; trays that need to be washed; and games to be played but we definitely need your help. Remember, the Greekfest is a way to celebrate our Faith and Greek culture. We all have so much to be thankful for in the past year….join us—Miss Stacy, Miss Julie, Miss Patty, Miss Carol and myself, Miss Stephanie…..we will be making calls close to Greekfest for your help!

GOYA CARWASHJoin the GOYANS on Saturday, August 10th from 9am-3pm at the Mobil on the Run on the corner of South Willow and Weston Road. Donations gratefully accepted for our end of the year trip in June 2014.

CANOBIE LAKESaturday, September 21st is our day to go to Canobie Lake Park!!!! We hope that everyone will be able to attend this 3rd annual event. We definitely need RSVP’s for this event. We are busy making plans for tickets. Please give Miss Stephanie a call to let me know you will be attending—my cell is 603-315-5026. We plan on spending the whole day!!! Get prepared to ride their new ride….the adults will watch from the bench!!

SUNDAY SCHOOLStacy Kalampalikis has accepted the position of Sunday School Director this year. Stacy has dedicated many years to the youth and we are so happy she will fill this role. We also have many parent-volunteers who will be working in the classroom to give our children the best year yet. We welcome any suggestions to help make this year successful. Our first day of Sunday school for the 2013-2014 year will be on Sunday, September 22, 2013. We will meet in church, take communion as a group and then head over to the Youth Center.

GREEK SCHOOLThe first day of Greek School will be Thursday, September 26th, 2013. Look for more information in the September bulletin for Greek school and Dance information.

CANDY BAR FUNDRAISER PLANNED FOR SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

The Youth will be selling Hebert candy bars starting in late September and October to raise money for events for the upcoming year. We are hoping each child will participate in this easy fundraiser.

GREEKFEST 2013

CALLING ALL PARISHONERS!!!As you all know, our 2013 GreekFest will be held on Saturday August 24th and Sunday August 25th. Festival hours: Saturday 11am to 9 pm; Sunday 11 am-7 pm.

Putting this event together is a massive undertaking requiring 100 volunteers each hour the festival is open! This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we need your help! Many of you have worked for years to make this event a success. But, we need more help and new blood to renew our energies. Please don’t be shy! We welcome your assistance, ideas and time.

The following are specific needs we have at the moment. Please call if you can do something or know a source for us to pursue. Right now we are in need of:

Donations of all kinds including: monetary, supplies, food, beverage supplies; your time and talents.

Donations of money and/or prizes for the Penny Sale Table.

Cooks to join the women of the Philoptochos on designated days to prepare specific Greek foods prior to the Festival.

Anything else you can think of.

Sounds like a lot of work … and it certainly is, but the more help we have, the fewer hours each one of us needs to work! This is a great way to meet new people! It is a lot of fun and a very gratifying way to give back to the Church.
