New Year's Eve Celebration a Great success – THANK YOU! On Monday, December 31, 2012 we held our 2nd New Year's Eve Celebration. We would like to thank everyone who attended. The support and assistance of over 200 people helped make this event a great success, raising over $4,000 for the church.

Youth NewsFebruary brings many activities for the Youth Ministry and we hope that all of our church families & parishioners will join us for some fun and fellowship.

Here is a look at the February calendar:Saturday, February 9th: GOYA meeting & prep work @ 6:00PMSunday, February 10th: GOYA will serve Gyros during the coffee hour as a fundraising event. Saturday, February 16th: Sleigh Ride Social at Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH (see flyer for details).Sunday, February 24th, NO SUNDAY SCHOOL!!! February School VacationSunday, February 24th @ 6PM: New Horizons Soup Kitchen

Greek Dance LessonsDance lessons continue every Sunday from 12:30-1:30PM. There are no dance lessons on February 24th due to February School vacation.

Greek SchoolReport cards came out on Thursday, January 17th for the first half of the school year. Congratulations to all the children for all the hard work and dedication to our language & history. There is no Greek School on Thursday, February 28th due to school vacation. The children are busy learning their poems and songs for our Greek Independence Day celebration on March 24th immediately following the Divine Liturgy.

Greek Independence Day Parade in Boston 2013!! WOW….the parade is here again! Last year we rented a bus that transported a very small group of us to the parade route to begin our short trek through Boston. Please mark your calendars for April 7th! Last year we had only 13 participants and this year we would like to have 40! Please consider walking with us. The parish communities participating last year with floats and children dressed in their village costumes was amazing. It is so important to have a group from the Assumption showing our pride in our heritage! I am taking names now for April….if you need any other information, please give me a call 315-5026. It is a very short walk and the bus will meet us at the end.

Children’s ChoirPlease do not forget our children’s choir…we meet every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30PM under Father Athanasios’ direction. Please join us! We need your voice!!

New Horizons Soup KitchenOur new mission is open to all our parishioners and we would love to have you share in this experience. Our group meets in the parking lot at 3:30PM and we follow each other to New Horizons. In December, we sang Christmas carols with all the clients of the soup kitchen. It continues to be a rewarding experience to all who have served. Join us the 4th Sunday of every month.February participants: Stephanie Piet, Carol Georgopoulos, Sofia Asymianaki, Marika Spirou, Athena Bevan, Andrea Moutsioulis, Lucie Skouteris, Georgia Gancarz……we still have openings!!
