The 5-6 Assessment Components (Products) News Flash/Warning! The numbering of the Parts and the numbering of the assessment components often creates confusion. These assessments are listed in this fashion as experience with workshops has shown that grasping a clear sense of what each candidate must produce, right from the introduction to the program, gives teachers a sense of the scope of the demands and helps them to choose appropriate texts for specific parts of the syllabus. Product not linked to a Syllabus Part PRODUCT # 1 (May Exam Session/November Exam Session)* SL Paper 1: Textual Analysis (1 hour 30 minutes) 25% HL Paper 1: Comparative textual analysis (2 hours) 25% The paper consists of two unseen texts. These assessments are listed in this fashion as experience with workshops has shown that grasping a clear sense of what each candidate must produce, right from the introduction to the program, gives teachers a sense of the scope of the demands and helps them to choose appropriate texts for specific parts of the syllabus.

Product not linked to a Syllabus Part

PRODUCT # 1 (May Exam Session/November Exam Session)*

SL Paper 1: Textual Analysis (1 hour 30 minutes) 25%

HL Paper 1: Comparative textual analysis (2 hours) 25%

The paper consists of two unseen texts.Students write an analysis of one of these texts (20 marks)
